Doctor Araujo as he was qualified and experienced in public administration. “We invited Doctor Rui as individual and as Timorese to become new prime minister for

Timor-Leste to go into Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN). Deputy Minister for Social Solidarity (MSS), Jacinto Rigoberto said this system could help
orientate the men in charge to make good coordination in responding to the natural disaster in the country.

MPs at the House of the Parliament have called on the Ministry of Education to implement the Government’s school program as soon as possible. Members of the
Parliament said they monitored this program at schools, but it had not yet been reactivated and said such situation had impacted the children. “The rice has been supplied, but the budget which will be spent for other items of the program has not yet been allocated; therefore the school feeding provider has not yet implemented it,”

decide. “We have good will to help seek for solutions to this matter, but we do not decide it to form a coalition,” he said. He added that they met with the President of

*Court sentences sexual abuse perpetrator to 25 years in prison

The Dili District Court yesterday made a verdict to sentence a perpetrator of sexual abuse against an underage girl to 25 years in prison. The decision on locking up
the perpetrator was made after going through hearings which was led by single judge, Jacinta Correia. The defendant who is 17-year old boy recognized the acts of
crime which he committed and said he did it many times.
*Govt should close down five embassies in abroard: Horta

The ex-Senior Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Jose Ramos Horta said it was better for the Government to close down some embassies in abroad to
save the country’s state budget. Horta said the Government should also reduce numbers of its members’ overseas visit which had mainly wasted the people’s money.
“I have identified five embassies that need to be closed down. Some big and rich countries also close down their embassies in abroad,” Horta said. Mr. Horta also has
recently asked for Prime Minister Xanana and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Jose Luis Guterres to close down some embassies in Asia and Europe
as international oil price which goes down impacts the state budget.

State Council Meeting which was attended by PM Xanana and the House Speaker of the National Parliament. TMR agreed with Xanana’s official resignation letter
which led to the collapse of the Government in accordance with the Constitution of Timor-Leste.

Member of the Parliament (MP), Manuel Castro has strongly criticized the Ministry of Health (MS) as it is incapable of supplying medicines for hospitals in the country. MP Castro said they had just visited the Referal Hospital of Baucau and found no medicines there to be provided for the patients who were receiving medical
treatment there. He said he was also concerned about shortcomings of facilities at the hospital, such as rooms and beds for the children. “In a room there are about
seven children gathered in this room with their families. The room is very smell. The doctors and nurses in the emergency room said they did nothing as there had
been no medicines,” he said.
*Japanese Govt provides more than US 2 million for Timor-Leste

The Government of Japan through the World Bank has officially offered US $ 2.7 million to the Government of Timor-Leste. The funding support was made through
signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Office of the Ministry of Social Solidarity yesterday. Representative of the World Bank, Bolorma Amkabazar
said this fund would be allocated to building weather residences to prevent local residents, living near the road corridor from Dili to Ainarao from natural disaster.
Deputy Minister for Social Solidarity, Jacinto Rigoberto thanked the Japanese Government for offering the fund and said it would be spent for reducing numbers of
vulnerability in the country.
*TB and children malnutrition stays in high at Bairopite Clinic

Director for Bairopite Clinic, Doctor Daniel Murphy said Tuberculoses disease (TB) and malnutrition of children are staying in high at Bairo-Pite Clinic. Each day the
referred clinic files 30 patients of TB and malnutrition of children. Mr. Murphy affirmed that all medicines provided for the patients were from the World Health Organization (WHO).“All the medicines are provided by WHO from the Global Fund. It is so difficult to find the medicines,” he said.

A press statement issued by the office of the President today said: after the meeting of the Council of State, President of the Republic, Taur
Matan Ruak informed that he accepted the request of for resignation of Prime Minister, presented to him on February 5. The resignation of the Prime Minister has as
the consequence of the resignation of the Government, in accordance with the Constitution. The President of the Republic will start now the process of the Constitution of the new Government by listening to the political parties, having seats in the Parliament.

*Police officers shoot eight in young men in a self-defense

party in the area. The incident happened last Sunday (8/2) in a wedding party in the administrative post of Venilale, Municipal of Baucau. Baucau Police Commander,
Jose Neto Mok said the police had to take actions against these young men as they tried to beat a government member who was present in the party. “They tried to

criminal association. Freitas’ Lawyer, Pedro Aparicio said his client was freed conditionally where she had to appear at the Public Prosecution Office to report herself

Kong as he was trying to sell an underage girl. “We have information that there is an underage girl whom a man was trying to sell her. And we tried to check it. On
Tuesday (3/2) we took the suspect for investigation purposes,” SIK Commander Lugerio Lay said. Mr. Lay affirmed that findings of the investigation showed that the
man was really engaged in the case and he was sent to the Public Prosecution for legal proceedings.
