2B GIRLS’ BASKETBALL CROSBY-IRONTON COURIER Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 Bowling Rangers edge Warroad, 50-47 The Crosby-Ironton girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Warroad Friday and came out with a 50-47 win. Lauren Peterson tallied 26 points and five steals to lead the Rangers while Cyan Hale added 12 points and five rebounds. The Rangers netted 28 first half points and trailed by one. C-I added 22 second half points to claim the victory. C-I shot 54 percent from the floor and added six of 10 at the Sports College-bound! line while Warroad shot 57 percent from the floor and six of eight at the line. The Rangers forced 24 turnovers and committed 18, but also finished with 17 steals. Warroad held a 22-16 rebounding edge, but allowed the Rangers to shoot four of eight from long range while connecting on only one three pointer in the game. Iron Range Riders meet Saturday The Cuyuna Iron Range Riders club will host its monthly meeting February 14 at 10 a.m. at the Ironton Legion, 232 Fourth Street. The group will discuss the Miller Black Bear trail, club activities and trail rides. Nonmembers are welcome to join all meetings, club activities and rides. The Rangers scored 22 first half points and trailed by seven at the break. C-I added 17 second half points in the loss. Abby Gindorff paced the Rangers with 15 points and added six rebounds while Cyan Hale tallied 12 points and four assists. The Rangers shot 45 percent from the floor and added six of 11 at the line while Crookston shot 50 percent from the floor and seven of nine at the line.
