WARNING !
Isolate electrical supply before commencing fitting.
Cover Removal
Remove the four M5 hex head screws which secure the cover to the base.
Lift cover clear.
Switchbox Mounting To Actuator
Ensure actuator and switchbox are both in the same mode i.e. fully OPEN or fully CLOSED
position.
Using the four M5 socket head cap screws and four nyltite washers provided, mount the
switchbox to the actuator by placing the screws and the washers into the four holes in the base of
the switchbox and securing to the actuator top or mounting plat.
If open indication is required on the top of the switchbox, use the open indication label
supplied with the mounting kit.
If the actuator is transversely mounted to the pipe axis, use both labels supplied with mounting kit.
Use open
to superimpose over closed marking on the side of the actuator.
Use closed
on the flat part of the switchbox.
Note: for Units fitted to actuators transversely mounted across the pipeline cams may need to be
reset. (see setting procedure).
Wiring
Remove conduit transit plug to gain access to wiring terminals. Wire in accordance with the
appropriate diagram on page 19 or see underside of switchbox cover. Customers wiring 2.5 mm2
maximum conductor size.
Limit Switch Setting
Note: Limit switches are factory set to 0° and 90° ± 2 degrees.
• Remove cover assembly by removing 4-off cover screws.
• Operate to the fully OPEN position, slacken central M3 cheese head screw two turns.
• Adjust top cam by turning adjusting screw marked “OPEN” using a small flat blade screwdriver.
Clockwise movement turns the cam away from the switch. Anticlockwise movement turns the
cam into the switch.
• Operate to fully closed position.
• Adjust bottom cam by turning adjusting screw marked “CLOSE” using the screwdriver.
Clockwise movement turns the cam into the switch. Anticlockwise movement turns the cam
away from the switch.
• After setting the cams, retighten the central clamping screw firmly and check that the switch
setting is as required.
Simple Check List
1. When fitting the Low Profile switchbox to model 002 pneumatic actuators, ensure the required
mounting plate is fitted and secure.
2. Switchbox conduit adaptors must be of correct size to effectively seal the unit. Use of a thread
sealant is recommended.
3. Ensure switchbox is securely fitted to the actuator.
4. Ensure cover screws are secure.
5. Ensure the fit between the actuator output shaft and switchbox shaft is correct i.e. no backlash.
Note: Top switch open.
Bottom switch closed.
