Our Founders, Deb and Pete, FOUNDERS BOARD OF DIRECTORS have operated the Reading Reptile in Kansas City for more than 25 years. In that time, through its innovative programming, partnerships, advocacy, and tireless creativity, the Reading Reptile has become a literary institution for families and educators throughout the community, while achieving a national reputation as one of the most respected children’s bookstores in the country. As founders and co-directors of The Rabbit Hole, they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, along with a wellestablished network of connections, both local and national, uniquely suited to the project. They will be able to build upon these assets to Sonja Shaffer create an unprecedented experience in Kansas City dedicated to the book. DANIEL HANDLER Rumored to have won the Gold Medal, Daniel may be best known as Lemony Snicket, creator of A Series of Unfortunate Events. LINDA SUE PARK Linda Sue is the author of A Long Walk to Water and winner of the Newbery Medal in 2002 for A Single Shard. JON SCIESZKA Jon was the first National Ambassador for Young Peoples Literature and author of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. BRIAN SELZNICK Brian is the author and illustrator of The Invention of Hugo Cabret, a major motion picture and winner of the Caldecott Medal.
