Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Friday 13th we came together as a school community to celebrate our Opening School Mass. It was great to see so
many of our families and parish community members celebrating with us. I would like to thank “Soul Connection” for
their ongoing participation and support at this Mass. Your time and effort is always greatly appreciated and your music
always adds a special element to our Mass. I would also again like to thanks Father Thomas for leading our Mass and we
thank you for the effort you go to in order to help our school celebrate important events within the religious life of the
school.
In conjunction with our Opening Mass we take the opportunity to invest our 2015 school leaders. It is always a very
special moment when our students receive their leadership badges for the year and make their leadership pledge to the
entire school community. To our school leaders, I hope that you are always mindful of the special role in which has been
entrusted to you and that you lead the school well by being a positive influence on others through leading by example.
Kind Regards
Luke Barrett

REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
From the APRE:
Project Compassion 2015 focuses on Food for Life. It throws a spotlight on global food issues and how Caritas Australia
is empowering the world’s poorest people to establish sustainable food sources for life. Yesterday, I was lucky enough
to attend an in-service which involved Caritas guest speakers. These guest speakers were very motivation and
highlighted the fact that 80 percent of the world is starving and miserable and only 20 percent go home with bread and
water. Therefore, we are all among the richest 20% in the world!!
The largest Favela in Rio – these are the
types of slums they live in.
These people in Brazil are suffering prejudice on a daily basis –
Please give generously!!
Together, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND BUILD A MORE
JUST WORLD.
If you would like more information about the great work of Caritas,
please attend Friday assemblies as we will be showing a series of
video clips.
th
Family Mass – 14 March at 6pm. I encourage you all to come along to this Family Mass. Please complete the
attendance slip and return by this Friday 27th February as I will be giving out readings and other additional ministerial
roles next Monday.
God Bless,
Kristy Cameron
