LYNCH - ((I am trying to find any references to Patrick LYNCH from Galway or
county Clare who was born around early 1800's who married Susanna MAYN around
early 1820's and went to Quebec. His son James LYNCH may have been born in
Ireland. (who may have also used the name Francis James LYNCH. All the other
references in old letters say "James" and the family tree and all other genealogical
sources use the name James, so this other name, Francis James LYNCH is a remote
possibility) and married Marguerite HOWLEY in Quebec Canada in 1843.
(Margaret's father, Patrick HOWLEY arrived in Quebec in 1828, probably with wife
and children. Wife's maiden name was Margaret COOK. There are no birth dates
available for either of them. All families were Catholic.) James and Marguerite's
children were James (1853) , Mary (1855), Agnes (1857), and then the family moved
to Quebec, Canada, where Frances was born Nov. 18, 1859. The last child was Emma,
born in 1861. I am the great-grand-daughter of Frances who was put in an orphanage
after Marguerite's death, and then was placed in Catholic schools in Cheyenne,
Wyoming, until she left after a disagreement with the sister superior. She met and
married William MAIN in 1879 and travelled with him to Fresno, where they raised a
