ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Velammal Engineering College (VEC), a
19 years old institution is chaired by
Shri.M.V.Muthuramalingam, a professional
Civil Engineer, visionary and a proven
personality with hands on experience in
imparting perfect quality education. The
Velammal Educational Trust has more
than 70,000 students enrolled through 28
educational institutions. The trust was
established in 1986 and celebrated its
Silver Jubilee recently. VEC is approved
by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to
Anna University, Chennai-25. It is an ISO
9001:2008 certified institution and also
accredited by NBA & NAAC. VEC is one
among the top ranked engineering
institutions in Tamilnadu.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Civil
Engineering
department
was
established in the year 2007 with a current
intake of 120 students. The department is
reinforced with 26 faculty members
amongst them, 4 are doctorates, and 5
are pursuing Ph.D. and 17 with Master’s in
Engineering. The department is fully
equipped with state of the art
laboratories and department library. The
department’s focus is on imparting
knowledge and grooming the personality
of students. The department is striving for
excellence in all aspects of academic
and research activities in engineering.

The objective of the conference is to
disseminate the latest developments in
civil engineering to research scholars,

to share the experience and knowledge
