ARTSPACE UPTOWN ARTIST LOFTS KICKOFF PARTY FRIDAY, MARCH 13 6:30 - 9 PM (CDT) NIPSCO LARGE ART EDUCATION STUDIO PIPELINES & BORDERLINES FEB. 21 - APRIL 6 OPENING RECEPTION MARCH 7, 5-8 PM (CST) This exhibition follows Mexican political printmaking tradition by focusing on the Tar Sands in Alberta, Canada and the BP Eveline Kolijn Refinery in Whiting, IN. Curated by Chicago artist Beverly Keys. Together the portfolios are comprised of 37 prints produced by 31 artists from North America. Exhibiting artists include: Eveline Kolijn, Rene’ Arceo, and Nicolas de Jesu. CONFERENCE ROOM GALLERY PERMANENT COLLECTION “Falcon” by William Brincka, donated by the estate of Walter Placko, is the newest addition to LCA’s Permanent Collection. Other Permanent Collection work on display was donated by Billy Marrow Jackson, John E. Wilson from Lakeside Gallery West, and Shari & Stewart Diamond. Artspace Uptown Artist Lofts celebrates it’s ground breaking with a reception exhibiting Art Shovels by NWI creative artists. Enjoy lively conversation, refreshments, and light bites. To learn more about Artspace Uptown Artist Lofts and to follow updates, like their Facebook page. 5TH ANNUAL COASTLINE CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL SUNDAY, MARCH 15 11 AM & 2 PM (CDT) Free At 11 AM, we will screen shorts suitable for children ages 3-8, but can be enjoyed at any age. William Brincka THE GALLERY SHOP EXHIBITING ARTISTS WORK Work Local: Art Meets Industry artist, Jon Hook, creates beautiful nature inspired pottery. His pottery is created from local materials such as clay, straw, and cattails adding color in the form of ash glaze to the surface of the wood fired ceramics. UPCOMING PROGRAMS & EVENTS FIRST FRIDAY: FÜR SERMON FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 5-8 PM (CST) Free Chicago-based Für Sermon will perform an eccentric mix of coffee shop acoustic classics with an electric push.
