Niska-Art Silver Call for Entries
March 25, 2015 – May 8, 2015
CALL FOR ENTRIES
Deadline: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2015
In celebrating of the 25th anniversary of The Nisk- Art Gallery, The Art
Department is sponsoring a juried exhibition from art alumni from the graduating
classes of 1990 – 2014 who are either currently working in the field as a
professional artist or enrolled in a college-level art degree program.
The Nisk-Art Gallery is an Arts in Education facility that is enjoyed by the whole
community. It was established in 1989 during the tenure of Art Director, Mr.
Frank Vurraro. The Gallery then continued to operate under the direction of Art
Director, Mr. Scott Walroth until 2014.
The Gallery is unique in its conception as a school, family, and community center
that connects people through the visual arts. The Gallery Club, under the
advisement of Mr. Stephen Honicki and Director of Art, Ms. Kelly Jones serves
as an "arts network" for the selection of artists while fostering authentic art
gallery experiences for students. Exhibits feature award winning work by
Niskayuna students as well as local, regional, and national artists.
SILVER will feature work in any medium that will fit within the gallery showcases.
Artists may submit up to three digital images via e-mail, along with supplemental
documents to [email protected]
