INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS Please liaise with Picture Post using the contact details below, who will: Assist with the VAT process. Receive artwork from DHL/FedEx/TNT etc. Hand In on the due day. Store the packaging for use in the event of a return being required. Collect unsold or unaccepted artwork. Repack. Arrange the export service. All the above at the Artists Expense. For the detail supporting the above, including schedules and prices, contact: Sarah - [email protected] 01302 711011 / Tom - 07833 450 788 PICTURE SIZES/FRAMING There are no size restrictions, however, artists with extremely large works are advised to contact Bankside Gallery to discuss details prior to submitting. You will need to have your work framed. Frames must be professional quality and should be a simple design in monochrome wood – no clip frames or metal frames will be accepted. Please note that the RE reserves the right to refuse any poorly presented work. MIRROR-PLATES Two mirror plates should be affixed to the frames approximately one-third from the top of the frame. All works are to be handed in unwrapped and will be transported in blankets. All works will be handed out unwrapped so artists will need to bring their own wrapping when they collect their work. LABELLING Clearly label each print on the front and back with your name, title of the work, medium and price. The label on the back should be affixed securely. The label on the front will be removed once it is hung on the wall, so please do not use sticky labels; instead secure a piece of white paper to the picture’s edge using small pieces of masking or magic tape, which are easy to remove without damaging your frame or marking the glass. We would prefer labels to be typed, but if this is not possible, please print clearly in block capitals. INSURANCE Works submitted for exhibition remain at all times the liability of the artist. While every care will be taken when handling works, neither the Gallery nor the RE can accept liability for any damage. Artists should therefore arrange adequate insurance against the loss or damage of their works in transit to and from the exhibition venue. Works selected for exhibition will ONLY be insured at the venue (Bankside Gallery) throughout the duration of the exhibition, and provided they are screwed to the wall with mirror-plates. EXHIBITION DATES The show will run from 3 to 15 November 2015. SALE OF WORK DURING THE EXHIBITION All work must be for sale and copyright must be vested in the named artist. Sales and payment will be handled by Bankside Gallery. A commission of 45% will be levied. All works will be sold as seen, so your selling price should include commission and your framing costs. Artists will be notified of sales shortly after they occur and the balance will be remitted to the artists within six weeks of the end of the exhibition. Any sales of further unframed prints will be the responsibility of the artist to deliver to the purchaser. Postage will only be charged to the purchaser and passed along to the artist in cases where an unframed piece is to be sent abroad. In these cases Bankside Gallery will make every effort to ensure that the amount charged adequately recompenses the artist’s expenses. PHOTOGRAPHY AND COPYRIGHT The artist will allow the work to be photographed and reproduced by the organisers for the purposes of promoting the exhibition and future ‘The Masters’ exhibitions, including catalogue, press and publicity, and websites. Copyright of all works remains the property of the artist. Any enquiries for copyright will be referred to the artist.
