Redeemer of the lost… Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. We are a community that stretches to learn, to grow and to serve to the end that we may “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God.” It is a joy to welcome you this day! PREPARATION FOR THE WORD Those who are able, please stand; bold print in unison. PRELUDE - Trumpet and Organ Prelude, Robert Couto and Stuart Smith, trumpet SILENT PRAYER Holy One, you come to us with power beyond all knowing. You lift all things out of the dust, you breathe love into every cell, you call us into communion with you, and you claim victory over death. Blessed be your holy name now and forever. Amen. CHORAL INTROIT - Good Christians All, Rejoice and Sing! GELOBT SEI GOTT CALL TO WORSHIP Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Christ is risen! Alleluia! He is risen, indeed! HYMN 232 - Jesus Christ Is Risen Today EASTER HYMN PRAYER OF ADORATION Glory to you, O God: you are the creator of life, our source of hope and the ground of our being. Glory to you, O God: you gave the law, inspired prophets and sent your Son so that we might know of justice and peace. Glory to you, O God: through the resurrection of Jesus we discover life to be abundant and eternal. With your people through the ages and with creation itself we glorify you, O God, our Creator, Savior and Spirit. Amen. RESPONSE OF PRAISE - Alleluia, Alleluia! Give Thanks (vs. 4) Alleluia, alleluia! Give thanks to the risen Lord. Alleluia, alleluia! Give praise to his name. Come let us praise the living God, joyfully sing to our Savior. (refrain) ALLELUIA PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD TIME WITH CHILDREN (Godly Play for prek-2nd grade is offered upstairs in the Education Wing; older children may remain in worship.) NOTICES OF CONGREGATIONAL LIFE (Please sign the Greeter Pads and pass it along your pew and back again.) RESPONSE TO THE GOOD NEWS AFFIRMATION OF FAITH We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God. Jesus proclaimed the reign of God: preaching good news to the poor and release to the captives, teaching by word and deed and blessing the children, healing the sick and binding up the broken hearted, eating with outcasts, forgiving sinners, and calling all to repent and believe the gospel. Unjustly condemned for blasphemy and sedition, Jesus was crucified, suffering the depths of human pain and giving his life for the sins of the world. God raised this Jesus from the dead, vindicating his sinless life, breaking the power of sin and evil, delivering us from death to life eternal. With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen. OFFERINGS OF THE PEOPLE OFFERTORY - Trumpet & Organ Voluntary CHORAL CALL TO PRAYER - Alleluia, Alleluia!
