A Celebration
to Remember!
“ Catching The Goat Fortune” Talk by Prof. Master Joe Choo
I n co n j u n c t i o n w i t h t h e L u n a r N ew Ye a r,
Sime Darby Brunsfield extended an invitation to the
public to celebrate this auspicious occasion at
Oasis Gallery. Multiple award winning performances
were lined up for the event, ensuring that all attendees
were treated to an entertaining time.
For two consecutive days, 28 February - 1 March,
laughter and joy filled the doors of Oasis Gallery. Some
of the highlights of the activities included an amazing
performance by the World Champion Fresco Harmonica
as well as entertaining Bubble Show courtesy of
award-winning illusionist and first ever bubble artist in
Malaysia, Jeff Leong.
Equally intriguing were the World Champion “Acrobatic
Lion Dance” by Kun Seng Keng and Magical Show by
Mark and Pinky. Winner of the Merlin Award (U.S.A), the
Magical Show definitely added colours to the New Year
celebration, making it a day to truly remember.
Other fun activities that turned out to be a big hit
amongst the crowd were “Catching the Goat Fortune”
Talk by Prof. Master Joe Choo. At the same time children
who were present with their parents were not left out
either. They had fun participating in various arts and
crafts sessions at the kid’s crafty corner.

Recently, renowned local artist Akid of the Medium
Touch graffiti crew and Christine Ngh from
Bumblebee Consultancy were appointed to jazz up
the wall space of Oasis G allery. The result –
Klang Valley’s largest indoor mural, the vibrant
depiction of the evolution of the Oasis Damansara
landscape.
The Past: Represented at the utmost left, buffalos graze
the fields and oil palm plantations filled the landscape to
indicate untouched lands where development had yet to
take place. Visitors would definitely find this
picture-worthy, as they could stand near the artistic
impression and pretend they were pulling the strong
and stubborn buffalo.
The Present: Transcending a wider context of
Oasis Damansara, this piece dazzles with the current
upcoming transportation infrastructure, shopping and
leisure aspects. It also reveals the beauty of Malaysia by
featuring children of various ethnic backgrounds. Kids
remain a favourite subject for Akid, as they symbolise
purity, innocence and hope for our future.
The Future: Portrayed by futuristic structures with
impressive facades, the landscape is vibrantly
contrasted with lush greenery. Indeed, sustainability
is an essential part of the Sime Darby Brunsfield’s
Oasis Damansara development which seeks to
balance humanistic and natural facets.
This exceptional production took two weeks to
complete, with breathtaking results. Nippon Paint's
Pylox Easy Spray made for an excellent choice, as its
wide range of colours, shades and tones truly brought
the artwork to life.
