Achievement Center-Easter Seals Programs & Services To provide vocational development services and extended employment programs for individuals with physical, mental and developmental disabilities and for persons without disabilities who are culturally, socially or economically disadvantaged; To assist them in obtaining competitive or extended employment; To help maximize independent living skills and to equip our consumers to live at the highest possible level of independence within the community. Community Based Services Job Development (JD) Job Coaching Job Retention Community Based Training (CBT) Community Based Extended Evaluation (EIII) Employment Services (Job Development) Job Placement Specialists assist with: Resume Development Application Completion Transportation to Interviews Job Search/Job Leads Job Readiness/Interviewing Skills Job Coaching Employer education about disabilities Assistive Technology and Individualized Accommodations Retaining Employment Community Based Extended Evaluation (EIII) Used prior to placing consumer in plan status The following will be evaluated and determined: Work potential Desire to Work Job interests Transportation Work Attendance Physical Abilities Community Based Training Consumer Benefits Receive job training from local business partners Earn minimum wage while training Gain knowledge, experience, and skills to be utilized in the work place Potential for employment Current work history/reference Business Benefits Additional staff at no cost Liability and worker’s compensation provided Weekly visits from CBT Developer to ensure positive outcome Exposure to persons with disabilities Screening of potential employees with no obligation to hire Training Sites Employability Development Services Evaluation/Vocational Services Vocational Services Vocational Evaluation Vocational assessments given to transition students and consumers to determine vocational potential and interests Job Readiness Adult Education & Driver’s Education Janitorial Services Grounds/Lawn Maintenance Production Training Community Based Training Certified Nurse Aide Class Five week intensive course that prepares students to achieve Health/Science Knowledge Patient Care Skills Clinical Experience at Oak Park Nursing Home (EAMC) State Certification Summer Transition Program Four week in-house program for high school Juniors and Seniors to gain exposure to various vocational experiences. Program includes: Job Readiness Skills Development Driver’s Education Career Exploration Community Based Training Field Trips and Guest Speakers from various businesses Industrial Services An extension of vocational services used to prepare consumers for competitive employment.
