WHATS ON … Open session (1:6, max 12 on a session) These sessions are ideal for those who have attended one of our coached sessions and just require a bit of practice. There will be instructors there to offer tips and guidance but they operate on a higher ratio than the coached sessions Introduction to rescues (1:4, max 8 on a session) Our introduction to rescues session will look at safe exits from the kayaks and different ways of getting back into a kayak. We will also start to look at self rescues using other boats. Improver rescues (1:4, max 8 on a session) This improver course builds on from the intro course. It will start with looking at a variety of self rescues and will then move onto peer rescues from boat to boat. Introduction to rolling (1:4, max 8 on a session). These sessions will introduce rolling and aim to give participants the foundations of a roll. Our coaches will help you understand your body and paddle positioning as well as the body motion of a roll. Improver rolling (1:4, max 8 on a session). Our improver sessions build on the techniques learnt in the intro session. We will use a variety of methods including video coaching to develop participants roll and problem solve any barriers in the technique. Support stokes (high brace, low brace & sculling for support) (1:4, max 8 on a session) These sessions will introduce and develop kayak support strokes. These strokes are used to help us prevent capsizes so are ideal to practice in the pool environment as we find the warmer environment helps people fully commit to the stroke. Comfy Capsize (1:4, max 8 on a session) This session is perfect for those people who are really nervous about exiting a kayak or wearing a spray deck. We will work through a series of exercises designed to improve your confidence about exiting a kayak. One to One Coaching Need to focus on a specific area? Do you learn better in a one on one environment? Book out one of out instructors for hour to spend working on what you want.
