ARTISTIC DANCE UNLIMITED
It’s hard to believe the end of the dance year is upon us. We have enjoyed teaching your children this year and look
forward to their recital performances. Please direct any questions regarding recital to Alette, Ursula, or Lyn. Regular
classes will continue the month of May from May 1 – May 23. There will be no regular classes the week of May 25-29 in
order to prepare for our three shows.
DRESS REHEARSAL –Friday May 29th or Saturday May 30th. Schedule posted in lobby and on the web site.
** Dress rehearsal is held at Clayton Center for the Arts at Maryville College Campus. Dress rehearsal schedule is posted
in the lobby. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time in your first costume listed on the schedule with
hair and make-up done. Dancers not present when routine is being rehearsed will miss rehearsing that routine. Due to a
tight schedule, we will not wait on anyone who is late. Thank you for your cooperation.

dancing in for free. They must check in at the information table in the lobby prior to the show and they
will receive a wristband that will act as their “ticket” to get in to watch the performance.
PROGRAM
All businesses advertising in our “Funky Fresh & 15!” commemorative program must meet our May 4th
deadline. Thank you.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Parent volunteers are still needed for the recital. If you would like to help backstage with your child’s class
please sign up on the sign-up sheet in the lobby. It is imperative that those classes have volunteer moms
backstage to help the children change costumes. Parents must remain in the backstage area. No one is
allowed to view recital then come backstage to help a class change. This is distracting to the audience. Extra
volunteers are also needed for various other backstage jobs. If you can, please lend a hand to help our recital
run smoothly. A PARENT VOLUNTEER MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE STUDIO ON TUESDAY MAY 19th AT
7:00 PM. If you are a volunteer and are unable to attend the meeting, please let the office know so they can
update you on information.
**All Alterations must be completed and costume pieces secured by dress rehearsal. All buns MUST have a
hair net! And please remember no jewelry, nail polish or panties.**
RECITAL TIPS
 Place costumes on separate hangers with the costumes in order of performance.
 Place hair pieces in zip lock bags and pin them to costume
 Bring a box to discard costumes in after use if you have lots of changes. This way previously worn
costumes will not be mixed in with those left to wear.
 Label everything!!!
 Pack your dancer a snack and beverage (water is best) and an activity bag for small children
**PLEASE REMEMBER THE USE OF VIDEO CAMERAS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT THE RECITAL. PARENTS
MAY VIDEO DURING DRESS REHEARSAL ONLY. HUTSON MEDIA WILL PROVIDE QUALITY VIDEOS OF THE
RECITAL AT A GREAT PRICE. ORDER FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY AND AT THE RECITAL. ALSO,
REMEMBER, WE DO NOT ALLOW FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY AT ANY TIME.
Please remember that only parent volunteers are permitted backstage during the show and intermission.
Dancers will be secured backstage during the show and intermission. This is done to keep the dancers safe.
If you need to make special arrangements for the shows, please see Ms. Lyn prior to recital weekend.
* Thank you to everyone who participated in Picture Week. We look forward to seeing all of our groups in a
beautiful display. All pictures ordered will be available for pick up at the Dress Rehearsal.*
