The new WJ IV includes three, co-normed batteries – Tests of Cognitive Abilities, Tests of Achievement and Tests of Oral Language. The WJ IV emphasizes the identification of strengths and weaknesses by providing comparisons both within each battery and across batteries. This hands-on training will provide the background and technical properties of the WJ IV and the substantial changes that have been made. Best practices of administration, scoring, and interpretation of results will be discussed and demonstrated. Participants will gain the knowledge necessary to administer and interpret WJ IV scores. This workshop is aimed at professionals familiar with cognitive abilities tests and the WoodcockJohnson batteries. Experience with WoodcockJohnson materials is required. Although this is an introduction to the new assessment tool, this workshop is not for someone who has never done cognitive testing Day 1 – Overview of the three test batteries with a focus on new subtests and changes. Day 2 – Interpretation of test results of the WJ IV with a focus on the Tests of Cognitive Ability and new composite scores available within and across the batteries.
