2015 BELLARMINE INVITATIONAL Meet Information
2015 BELLARMINE INVITATIONAL
MEET INFORMATION
Owsley Frazier Stadium
Friday-Saturday April 3-4, 2015
ENTRY AND MEET INFORMATION
This year the Bellarmine Invitational will be a two day meet, April 3-4 (Friday-Saturday). The
meet will be conducted in accordance with the new NCAA rules regarding multi-day meets. Last
year we had 30 universities and colleges representing all three NCAA Divisions, the NAIA and
NJCAA.
Track: Eight lane 42” lanes (9 lanes straight) Beynon surface - 1/4" pyramid
spikes or Christmas tree spikes only, NO NEEDLE or PIN SPIKES.
The track is located at 2001 Newburg Road.
All events other than the throws will take place at the stadium. We have multi directional pits. All
events at the stadium will be on the Beynon surface.
Throwing Events: All throwing events will take place at our throws venue located behind the
Nolan C. Allen Building at 2120 Newburg Road which is at the stoplight
across from the main entrance to campus. You will park in the
2120 parking lot and walk back to the throws area behind the building.
The throws venue is ¼ mile from the stadium.
Shot, Discus, Hammer – brushed concrete; Javelin – Beynon Surface
Implement weigh-in and certification at the throws venue
Field Events: For the throws and horizontal jumps we will do 4 attempts with no finals. Due to
only having one landing area for the long throws, the number of entries and the new NCAA rules
we feel this change will be in the best interest of the athletes and meet. We may impose
minimum marks in the throws and horizontal jumps based on the number of entries, but going to
4 attempts and adding flights on Friday may alleviate that need. If we impose minimum marks,
we will measure one legal throw/jump for all competitors.
We will measure all field events metrically
We will use the LASAM for all long throws
We will have wind gauge readings for all required events
Opening Heights: Heights: Women’s HJ (4’6”); Men’s HJ (5’8”)
Women’s PV (8’6”); Men’s PV (12’0”)
Entries: Please submit entries using Direct Athletics: www.directathletics.com
no later than 11:59pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. The Direct Athletics web
site is open for entries. Please use 2015 indoor/outdoor performances or 2014 outdoor
performances so we can properly seed the meet.
Timed running sections - All Sections (Friday and Saturday) will be timed sections. We will
seed all Friday sections via confirmed TFRRS based on the athlete’s performances from the 2014
outdoor season, 2015 indoor season and current 2015 outdoor performances. If you have a
special situation such as first time competing in the event, or coming off injury please e-mail
Kris Horton ([email protected]) with a brief description of situation and he will reply to
your request.
NEW THIS YEAR - For events that are contested on Friday and Saturday - if you meet the
standard for the Friday section (if applicable), you may choose to compete on Friday or
Saturday by entering your athlete in the appropriate section on Direct Athletics. Please note
per NCAA rules, an athlete may NOT compete in the same event on both days.
