Procedure for registering with the Italian Business Register or with the REA
(Economic Administrative Register)
The Chamber of Commerce of Milan has simplified the registration procedures in order to facilitate
participation in the EXPO 2015.
Business activities like:




temporary retail sales of non-foods;
temporary retail sales of food and drink;
temporary food and drink provision / preparation;
temporary free food and drink tasting for the general public
must be registered by the new “SCIA EXPO” form, approved by Lombardy Region. It will be possible, by the
“SCIA EXPO” form, to notify in advance the beginning and the ending, at the same time, of such business
activities. Only in this case, a single form is required.
Enterprises willing to participate in the EXPO 2015 can open exhibition stands or temporary offices
(outside the EXPO site too) to manage the aforementioned business activities. When these temporary
structures stay open to public for more than 30 days, the Chamber of Commerce of Milan must be notified
of it, even in advance. Instead, the Chamber of Commerce will register the closure of a
representative/branch office on its own initiative, without imposing further obligations on enterprises provided that the SCIA EXPO form, already filed at the competent SUAP office, either in the municipality of
Milan or of Rho, contains the date of closure.
It is implied that owners of exhibition stands or structures for temporary business, carried on for less than
thirty days, must file a form at the Revenue Agency and at the SUAP office (either in the municipality of
Milan or of Rho, depending on the place where the representative/branch office or the stand is opened).
