IN Vienna Spring semester 2015
Ever heard of ESN?
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-profit international
student organisation. ESN is the key volunteer student
organisation in international higher education in Europe.
Our mission is to represent international students, thus provide
opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development
under the principle of „Students Helping Students“.
We try support exchange students in all regards and organize
various events like
- trips
- parties
- sport- & cultural events

Who are we?
As locals, we know about the most interesting activities in
Vienna, Austria and the surrounding countries and organize
events for our exchange students on a non-profit basis.
ESN is operating at 7 universities in Vienna and is taking care of
2500 students there.

According to the motto „The more, the merrier!“, these sections
often cooperate by organizing different trips and events
together like the Nightsledding event, the trip to Prague, the
Sportsday, the International Dinners, the Ski Trip (ESN Austria)
or the Summer Event (ESN Austria).

ESN WIen WU
We, ESN Wien WU, are part of the huge network. Most of our
team members have themselves been on exchange and got to
know ESN there and decided to join ESN back in Austria.
Everyone in our team is motivated to spend her/his free time
with exchange students and is doing the
best to make your great time in Austria even better.
We have planned an exciting semester with lots of activities
where we hope to meet many of you :)

ESN UNI Wien
As Vienna’s biggest ESN section, the highly motivated ESN
Uni Wien volunteers aim at helping Erasmus and other
international students feel at home at Universität Wien. Each
year we reach out to more than 1000 exchange students by
trying to integrate them into the Viennese lifestyle.
By means of treasure hunts, speed-friending, language nights,
city hikes, trips to other cities and regions in Austria, as well as
foreign countries, we help you find new friends in your new
home. Joining one of our events does not only mean having
a great time, but will also enrich your circle of friends and
cultural knowledge – sure enough, our variety of activities
provides something for everyone.
Years of experience have shown that throughout the semester
we will emerge from our role as organisers and will become
your friend, your counsellor and your party companion.

The ESN section of the Vienna Technical University guides you
through! No matter if you have questions about your Erasmus
semester in Vienna, if you want to get to know some folks, join

esn FH wien WKW
The section ESN FH Wien WKW was founded in 2006. Since
then, we have been taking care of approximately 60-100
students each semester which come to us from all over the
world.
As we are a very small section within Vienna, we try to bond
with our Incomings via small events, although we still try to do
a few city trips.
Although most people in the team don’t stay longer than a
year, there is always a high demand of local students wanting
to help.

Being one out of seven sections in Vienna, it has been our
passion, spending a great time with our exchange students
over the past years.
Since our team has been reformed this semester and we
welcome new members on board, we are very much looking
forward to invent new projects and realize new ideas. We
all share one spirit - ESN - “Students for Students“. Besides
our local Buddies, who are there for our exchange students
especially in the beginning, our team of actually 13 members
is highly motivated to realize events and make your stay in
Vienna as much fun as it can be.
We are already working on concrete ideas to realize a nice
event-programme along your semester to make your stay in
Vienna more versatile. To give you an idea of our events you
can check out the list in this brochure. We are very much
looking forward to meeting you and spending a great time
together.

One of the seven Viennese sections, ESN BOKU has been part of
the network since 2004. A motivated team wants to welcome
the exchange students at the Viennese University for Natural
Resources and Life Science and show them the beauties and
excitements of our City.

Your ESNcard
The ESNcard is the membership card of the Erasmus Student
Network and provides, besides price reductions on our trips,
various benefits and discounts in 35 countries. All these can
be used while travelling through different European countries.

You can get the ESNcard at our ESN offices / info points for €10.
You will also need a small photo, since your card is not valid without it.
