TheCarlNielsenMasterclasshasforthelast8yearsbeenaverysuccessful
eventinAssens,Denmark-asanarrangementfororchestraandchambermusic.TheCarlNielsenMasterclassinAssens2013willbeforSinfoniettaand
chambermusic.Weexpectbetween40and50participantsfromDenmark,
Scandinavia,EuropeandChina.

ThemasterclasswilltakeplacefromSaturday12thwith;inalconcertsonSaturday19thofOctober,2013.DeparturewillbeonSunday20th.
The entry requirements
Participantsshouldbe15to25yearsofage.Tosecureahighlevelonthe
CNMandguaranteethat–particularlyinthechambermusicgroups–youwill
beinagroupofyourownlevelyouarerequestedto;illintheapplication

The fee
Thefeeis270Euro(DKK2.000)perperson.Thiscoversboardandlodging,
participatinginthemasterclasses,musicalscoresandtransporttoconcert
venues.ItdoesnotcovertransporttoAssens.TheremaybebursariesavailableforparticipantsfromoutsideDenmark(seeapplicationform).

ThelanguageofteachingwillprimarilybeEnglish,thereforetheapplicants
mustbeabletospeakandunderstandEnglish.

The chamber music
Themusicwillchosenaccordingtothethemeoffolkmusic´sin;luenceon
classicalmusicandwillincludeworksofCarlNielsen.Theselectedmusic
willbedistributedtotheparticipantsaccordingtotheirinstrumentallevel.
Eachstudentmustparticipateinatleastonechambermusicpiece.This
yeartheorchestralprogramwillagainoccupylesstimegivingmoretime
tochambermusicworkandindividualpractice.

ConductoroftheRoyalScottishNationalOrchestra,andanoftenusedconductorwiththeDanishprofessionalorchestras.
He will be supported by sectional tutors – Arne Balk-Møller (violin), Sakari Tepponen (violin) Claus Myrup (viola), Niels Ullner (cello) and Svante Wik
(clarinet). During the week Henrik Goldschmidt (oboe), Tone Sundgaard Anker
(French horn) and Joel Gonzalez (double bass) will attend for instrumental
masterclass. Folk musician Ditte Fromseier Hockings will be special guest giving
a workshop on folk music.
