RACE RULES & INFORMATION:
1. The SPAR 10km Challenge is open to all female licensed and non-licensed runners/walkers of 14 years and older.
2. The 5km challenge is open to all female runners/walkers and any members of the family over the age of 9 years.
3. Race circuit starts and finishes in Green Point Common, Cape Town. A route map will be available at Race Number Collection.
4. Entrants are encouraged to enter the following ways:
a) At Selected Stores (Aurora SUPERSPAR, Belhar SUPERSPAR, Cape Gate SUPERSPAR, Century SUPERSPAR, Die Boord SUPERSPAR, Kuilsriver SUPERSPAR, Old Oak SPAR, Paarl East SUPERSPAR, Parklands SUPERSPAR, Plattekloof SUPERSPAR, Rosmead SUPERSPAR, Royal Ascot SUPERSPAR, Sonstraal SPAR, Sea Point SPAR, Somerset’s Fine Food & Wine KWIKSPAR, Vangate SUPERSPAR, Welgedacht SUPERSPAR, Zevenwacht SUPERSPAR)

Athletics to P O Box 101, Lansdowne, 7779. Hand deliveries will be accepted at the Western
Province Athletics office at Vygieskraal Stadium, Johnson Road, Athlone (Mondays to Fridays
between 09:30 – 15:00). You can also enter at selected SPAR stores. If you have not received
your SMS confirmation by Tuesday 24 March 2015 you must please bring along your proof

8. Race Numbers: All participants will be issued with two SPAR race numbers to be worn, front and back. Participants must wear

9. Race Timing: Only the 10km event will be officially timed.

10. Seeding: All Club runners dressed in club colours will be seeded for the 10 km race. Runners and walkers will be seeded
separately.
11. Prizes: Prize giving starts at 09:30. Only entrants present at the prize giving when lucky draw takes place will be eligible to win
prizes. MEN & CHILDREN UNDER 14 YEARS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY PRIZES. Entertainment will start at 10:00.

12. The race is organised by Western Province Athletics according to the rules of ASA.
13. First 22 000 entrants to collect their race pack at Race Number Collection will receive a Goodie Bag and a FREE T-shirt.
14. Race Number Collection: All entrants must collect their race numbers and final instructions. NO Number Collection or Late
Entries on the day of the race..
15. Toilets and Tog Bag facilities at start and finish. Organisers will take reasonable care but no responsibility will be accepted for
damages or losses of personal articles/items. Do not leave valuables or cash in your tog bag.
16. In addition to Overall (Open) prizes, participants will only be eligible for an age category prize in the age category they
enter. Corresponding numerical age tags must be worn on the front and back of the vest. Participants may enter the age
category corresponding to their chronological age or any younger category down to senior.
17. Temporary licensed participants are eligible for age category prizes provided they enter the relevant age group, wear the
appropriate age tags and provide proof of age.
18. Junior (born 1996 or later) must display category “J” tags to qualify for age group prizes or team prizes.
