Six weeks Ayurveda Immersion (under the aisle of “Charaka Home of Ayurveda”) 24/04/15 7:30 AM www.charakahome.org [email protected], [email protected] Components of the Immersion Program: Approx. 150 hours covered. Learning on few selective topics of Ayurveda with Dr Acharya (both clinical & Basics). Hands on practical of selected Panchakarma/Pharmacy procedures with Dr Acharya (depending on available schedules). Ten days (Approx.50 hours) program at different specialty departments of Post Graduate institute, Gujarat Ayurved University (Jamnagar). Visit to hospital and observing procedures. Visit & interaction with Ayurveda private practitioners in Sourashtra (Gujarat) also around Udupi (south india). Visit to herbal gardens. Few classes on healthy & tasty Ayurveda food preparation (Sandhya Acharya). 5 days at reputed Ayurveda institute / hospitals at South India ( preferred SDM college-Udupi & Ayurveda College – Kottakkal, Kerala ). Interactions with Ayurveda doctors/ professors and visit to hospitals. Visit to forest and botanical nursery for live identification of medicinal plants. Preferably, accompanied by professor. Short educational visit/program at ‘Pilikula’ biodiversity center near Mangalore. Study with Artisan Village at biodiversity center (Mangalore). Visit to Ayurveda pharmacies manufacturing Ayurveda medicines at Gujarat and also south India. The Course Fee for 6 weeks (approx. 150 hours) of Ayurveda immersion Program. The course fee would be US$ 1000 (for six weeks) per person. Maximum 15 persons allowed. If the participants are more than ten then: then the fee may be reduced to some extent (not assured). However, batch of 10 is ideal and more than 15 is not accepted. What does fee include? : This course fee includes the fees which are to be paid at Ayurved University Jamnagar, other institutes in South India and to professors’ fee / guides who join for outdoor (botanical etc.) practical. What is NOT included? : This course fee is payment towards the tuition / education only. This does not include your expenses towards travel, stay and food. On request some one can help you arrange for your local stay (Jamnagar/Udupi) and food, if needed. At Jamnagar, Ayurved University may offer stay at International Hostel for Foreigners. This would considerably reduce the living cost at Jamnagar (3 weeks). This cannot be assured for every batch in the year. Please Note: Travel from Jamnagar to South India (Udupi) will be (accompanied by Dr. Acharya) by flight only. Complements: Dr Acharya shall issue certificate for participation in entire course (6 weeks). In addition, there would be a certificate of participation from Gujarat Ayurved University (two weeks only). Participation in Charaka Samhita discourses in the morning hours with Dr Acharya and Meditations. Visits to few places of cultural interests & natural resources in the neighborhood of Jamnagar and Udupi. Participants’ other financial responsibility: 1.Participants can make their own arrangements for stay and food during the period (Approx. 6 weeks). On request, assistance / guidance can be provided if needed. There are reasonable economical hotels/ religious guest houses at Udupi near Dr Acharya’s residence. Generally cost of living could be around (@ US$ 30 per day in a moderate hotel stay & food in India. Could be much lesser also depending on the facility opted at the specific city. The international Hostel at the Jamnagar University charges only US$ 100/ as rent for entire month. 2.Travel costs from respective countries to Jamnagar (India) and Air ticket charges from Jamnagar to Udupi(Mangalore) shall be borne by individuals. Bus/ vehicles can be hired for travelling to nearby places and total cost can be shared among us. Special Activities July-Aug 2015 batch -Optional Traditional Artisan training Programs ( only 3 days) at the Bio Diversity Center near Mangalore.
