Danny Vernon: Let’s give a warm “Welcome Home” to Danny Vernon, as he brings his talent to Sumner. He’s excited to return with his talented wife, Marcia to perform for our Mother’s Day celebration. He was born at Good Sam Hospital and currently lives in Edgewood. His roots are here. His Grandmother, Germaine (Mimi), an accomplished chef hailed from France after WWII and opened a restaurant on main street offering French cuisine. She also helped out at the senior center (Yvette, he used to call you NouNou). Danny’s mother, Mary Smith was the Sumner Senior Center Director when it was housed at the library and he performed for a fundraiser held at the high school while he still went by the name Danny Smith. There came a time when he changed his name and took his father’s middle name Vernon, as his last name. Danny’s career took off after he performed as Danny Suko in a pre-show of Grease. He has performed as Elvis at the Kent Senior Center, on an country western album in Nashville, and travels in the U.S. to such locations as CA and AZ. PLEASE join us for the upcoming concert and celebrate our local musician who has done well!! Subsidized by the Sumner Senior Center Board of Directors. Sign up and pre-pay $5 in the Activities Book or $7 at the door. The SHOW begins at 1:00 p.m. Mt. Valley Art Club, Ar st of the Month! The Sumner Senior Center would like to recognize Mt.
