People must register for classes unless otherwise noted. Registration and payment must be received at least five business days before class start date. Classes will be canceled if minimum enrollment has not been met five business days before class start date. Accepted payment methods are listed below. All programs are held at Fife Community Center, unless otherwise noted. Refund Policy Failure to withdraw 5 days prior to the advertised program start date will result in the loss of 100% of program registration costs. Withdrawal 5 or more days prior to the advertised program start date will result in a full refund, minus a $5.00 service fee. No refunds will be given for missed days. Medical Insurance Easy Ways Participants in Fife PRCS programs should have their own to Register! medical insurance to cover any injuries sustained while PHONE INCredit Card Only participating in any activity sponsored by the PRCS WALK IN Cash, Check, or Department. Those photos may be used for promoting our programs, classes, events, or displayed online. 3 3 Special Events Special Events Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt (Ages 11-16) A unique twist on the traditional Easter Egg Hunt! Teens are invited to bring a flashlight, a basket and a friend or 2 for a crazy evening of Easter Egg hunting in the dark! Tons of treats in eggs to be found and who will be the lucky one who finds the Golden Egg?? Preregistration advised by the day of. Registration starts at 8 pm on the 3rd. The Fife Farmers Market will be held at Dacca Park, to allow kids to play, while parents peruse the market. There will be special events and live entertainment. Dates: Fridays, June 19-August 28 Location & Time: Dacca Park from 3-7 p.m. Special Events 5 Youth Programs Youth Programs Indoor Toddler Play Park (Ages 10 months-5 years) Toddler Time is all new!! Sing-a-long songs and fun dance music will now be included into each session! This program is for parents and caregivers with children. Children enjoy small and large motor skill activities, art experiences, or group games. Parents must be present to supervise their children at all times. No registration is required. Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays Times: 9:30-11:30 a.m. Cost: $2 Location: Fife Community Center Kids Day Out (Ages 5 - 12) Kids Day Out is now every third Saturday afternoon! Parents, need a day out?! Drop the kids off with us to have a good time with friends! We will be swimming, doing crafts, playing games and more! A small snack is provided. Join us for an activity filled afternoon and don’t forget your swim suit! Registration deadlines: 4/15, 5/13, 6/17 @ 4:00 p.m. Dates: 4/18, 5/16, 6/20 Times: 1-5 p.m. Cost: $10 1st child/$5 2nd child Challenger Soccer - Mini Kickers Mini Kickers is a new and exciting program that teaches basic soccer skills while developing strength, balance, coordination, listening skills and team work for children aged 4-7. Our professional, licensed British coaches will ensure your child has a positive soccer experience. The Mini Kickers curriculum has been devised by soccer experts, child development professionals and experienced coaches. Classes are weekly 45 minute sessions for periods of 5 weeks. Sports for Shorts is a course that will teach warming up, stretching, dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive work. It is a great opportunity to meet other kids in the area and have a great time. Parent participation is encouraged. Days: Monday Time: 3:45 – 4:30 p.m. Cost: $25 Resident / $30 Non April: Intro to all Sports 4/13-5/4 May:Soccer 5/11-6/8 (no class 5/25) Taekwondo Children’s Beginner Taekwondo (Ages 5-12) This class is for youth ages 5-12 and the curriculum is specifically geared towards beginners who wish to learn the basics of Taekwondo. Please wear workout attire such as a T-shirt and sweatpants. Uniforms will be available for purchase but are not required. Enrollment is open and ongoing so that new students may enroll at any time. Beginning Ballet (Ages 3-4 yrs.) Metro Arts’ ballet classes focus on technique, posture, alignment, creative expression and performance. Sessions: 4/22 - 6/3 Days: Wednesdays Times: 4-4:30 p.m. OR 4:30-5 p.m. Cost: $37 Resident/session $41 Non/session Beg/Intermediate Ballet (Ages 5-7 yrs.) The City of Fife Parks and Recreation will keep your child entertained and having fun. The camps are open to boys and girls K-6th grade. Kids will get to make art, play games, and participate in activities. Please be sure to send your child with a lunch that does not need to be heated or chilled and a water bottle. Register before deadline to reserve your spot and to ensure no cancellation. Spring Break Camp Date: 4/6-4/10 Time: 6:30 A.M. – 6 P.M. Teen Programs Teen Scene (5th-7th Grade) The City of Fife Parks and Recreation provides a fun and safe place for middle school students after- school that encourages and develops like skills, respect, and positive social interaction. Daily activities include homework help, group games, sports, and art projects. Registration forms are located at Surprise Lake Middle School Office, Endeavour Intermediate School Office, and at the Fife Community Center. 25 Student Limit. Financial Assistance is available on a sliding scale; please contact Fife Community Center for more information, 253-896-8656. This program only runs with SLMS is in school. Teen Scene does not run on in-service days. This free drop-in program provides the opportunity for kids to get creative with arts & crafts, play lots of games and sports, and visit with friends. This program is not to be used to substitute Child- Care or Day-Care services! Adult recreation staff will supervise the kids during activities but is NOT responsible for keeping track of children at the program or park site for the duration of the day; kids can come and go as they please. It is solely the responsibility of the parents, legal guardians and day-care providers to supervise their children to ensure their safety. Hylebos Nature Area 6125 8th Street East The City acquired this 15 acre site along Hylebos Creek through County and Federal grants. The property was developed as an important habitat restoration project.
