City of Victorville Unveils New Fitness in the Park Area
Get “Fit in the Park” at Doris Davies Park
Victorville, CA – The City of Victorville Recreation Department held a neighborhood celebration on March 19th
to officially open a new work out area, at Doris Davies Park, in the City of Victorville.
The ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the “Fitness in the Park” area featuring the Energi
Prime™ 5-Station circuit, and is conveniently located next to the children’s play area. “Residents will benefit
from the new fitness equipment, and the location makes it easy for parents to work out while they watch their
children in the playground,” stated Mayor Gloria Garcia.
After the ceremonial ribbon was cut, a demonstration was given by Fitness Trainer, Dustin Bogle. Each
participant who tried out the new exercise equipment received a free City of Victorville work out bag and
work out towel to support their exercise routine.
“Today’s celebration marks a great day for the surrounding residents of Doris Davies Park,” said Director of
Community Services, Christian Guntert. “This Fitness in the Park area is another step towards our goal of
providing quality recreation for our citizens. We hope to see more residents enjoying a fit lifestyle in all of the
22 parks within our City of Victorville.”
This “Fitness in the Park” workout area was made possible by the generous support of our fiscal sponsors
Kaiser Permanente, and the California Endowment.
