School resumes on Tuesday, April 7th. Have a wonderful and blessed Easter celebration! RIGHT NOW MEDIA! Please check out Right Now Media if you haven’t yet seen all the Christian videos that could stream into your home. CCA families & staff received an invitation email last week. This resource is being offered to you compliments of CCA! LOST & FOUND TO BE EMPTIED - FRIDAY, MARCH 27th The lost & found tub will be emptied on Friday, 3/27 & the contents will be donated to the Salvation Army. ALSO: Please take home all of your winter gear (boots, snow pants, etc.) prior to Easter Break. Thank you! SAVE THE DATE: CCA’S SPRING MUSICAL “High School Musical” will be performed on Saturday, April 18th at 6 pm. Tickets for the play are now available in the school office: Adults $5 & students $3. There will also be a pre-show pep rally & fun fair beginning at 4:30 pm. Game & food tickets for the pep rally will be available at the door. All pep rally proceeds go to the mission team. SPRING MUSICAL POSTER CONTEST Attention 4-12th grade students: There is still time to enter a poster in to the “High School Musical” poster contest! All entries must be size 22”x28” & contain the word, “Wildcats” (CCA colors) . Turn in your entry to Mrs. Cantrell or the front office. The winning poster will be displayed on stage during the performance & the winner will receive a $20 TRiP card of choice! Entry deadline is Friday, March 27th. CCA TALENT SHOW TRYOUTS The CCA Talent Show is scheduled for May 5th at 6 pm. Tryouts will be April 7th & 8th; please sign up in Mrs. Cantrell’s room. The performer list will be posted by the front office on April 10th. No practices will be held - you are responsible for preparing for your own performance. Contact Mrs. Cantrell at [email protected]. CCA BENEFIT DINNER & AUCTION - SATURDAY, APRIL 25TH Please consider making a gift to help benefit your school at this year’s auction! The benefit dinner & auction is just around the corner! This year’s theme is “God is Faithful.” We always look forward to an evening where the CCA community & friends gather to enjoy a wonderful dinner together & experience the excitement of our annual auction. Watch for the dessert auction sign-up. We are still accepting donations to the silent auction - goods or services. If you have something that you’d like to contribute, please contact JoAnn Mathes or Stacey Gorbold at 815895-8522. SUMMER ART CAMP IS BACK! 5 projects. 5 Days. Open to K-6th grade. June 22-26th, 9 am-3 pm. The student art gallery will take place on the final night. Summer art camp is a God- centered experience where students will encounter paints, drawing, design and other art disciplines. Students from the community are welcome! PFC MEETING: Thursday, 4/9 at 6:30 pm in the primary library. BOYS & GIRLS NEEDED TO CCA’S TRACK TEAM We need 5-8th grade boys and girls to participate on our track team in ALL events, which includes field and/or running events. Practices are 3:30-5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays. Our first track meet is in mid-April. For more information, please contact Mr. Roger Plant by calling the school office. AVAST ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE AVAILABLE TO CCA FAMILIES Cornerstone Christian Academy encourages all of our students to use anti-virus software on their computers. We’ve been using Avast anti-virus software for free to protect our school network. It’s free for educational purposes, which also extends to our school community! To download a free license for your PC, visit: www.avast.com/students and follow the instructions to install a copy on your student’s computer. For more detailed information, please see the “Avast_Student_Setup.pdf” file attached to this mailing. TICKLER BREAKFAST & LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Would you consider helping out with the Tickler Breakfast and/or the Tickler Lunch? We need volunteers who would be willing to shop, cook & serve our 3rd-6th grade students who have qualified for the breakfast that is scheduled for Tuesday, 4/21. The Tickler lunch is a pizzal unch & is scheduled for Tuesday, 4/28. Please call or visit Linda Wilkin in the school office if you are interested. DENTAL EXAMS DUE! Information has been sent to those students who are still in need of a dental examination for the current 2014/15 school year. All students entering kindergarten, 2nd & 6th grades are required to provide proof of a dental exam. The dental exam is a requirement of the State of Illinois. If your child is required to have a dental exam for this school year and you have not scheduled an exam yet, please do so as soon as possible. Preschool News EASTER BREAK DAY CARE IS AVAILABLE Day care will be available during the Easter Break. Please see the attached registration form for available dates & daily themes. Registration forms are due NOW! PRESCHOOL’S SPRING SING & ART SHOW Our Spring Sing & Art Show will be held on Friday, April 10th at 6:30 pm. Our song selection will be uplifting & praising God for spring! Birds will be the featured art this year, & the viewing will begin at 6:00 pm. Parent News TRiP Great Lakes Scrip Center is sending some more bonuses your way! Here are the bonus details: AMC Theaters 5% 3/21- 27, Meijer 1% 3/21-4/4, Regis Salons 1% 3/21-3/27, Shutterfly 2% 3/21-4/3, See’s Candies 2% 3/21-4/3. If you need any of these cards that contain a bonus, they must be ordered for you. We will place an order that will be here on Tuesday, 4/7. We have a lot of cards that you can use to tidy up around the yard since all the snow has melted. Need some grass seed, flowers, seeds or a wheelbarrow? We have Farm & Fleet, Menards, Lowe’s, Target & Walmart to help you with that. Well, you still have to do the manual labor, but they can help you save some money on your tuition at Cornerstone. THEN you need to buy a Starbucks card to help yourself do that work! The TRiP office is open from 8-9 am every morning & 3-3:30 pm on Monday afternoons.
