This now works on both the Samsung and Apple Iphone. Uniform Shop Kirsten Zan runs the school uniform shop every Wednesday before our school assembly, 8.30am – 9.00am Twice a year families are asked to place an order for school uniforms. This is in terms 2 and term 4. Some stock is kept on hand for new students and for those that might need an extra item. School hats are always available from the front office. Children's Crossing Commences It was fabulous to see the Children’s Crossing in operation today!! On our first day we had over 50 students from a number of different schools using the crossing!! Importantly it was noted that there was a significant number of students who were riding their bikes to school for the very first time unaccompanied by a parent. In preparation for the start of the crossing not only have we trained the volunteers but we have trained all the students at school about the safe way to use the crossing when a Traffic Warden is present. The messages given were: • Always cross the road at the Children's Crossing • Always walk your bike and scooter across the road. • Wait on the side of the road until you hear 2 whistles from the Traffic Warden • All adults should use the designated crossing even when they don't have children with them. We hope to see the Children's Crossing used on a regular basis so that we can demonstrate to the Police Department that we have 20 students crossing the road every day. This will allow us to employ a permanent Traffic Warden. Our New School Sign is Completed Page 3 Casual Cleaner Required Our school requires the services of a casual cleaner. No experience required. Please contact Julie or Linda in the office or call us on 9755 5260. If you know of anyone who may be interested please pass on the information. We are exceptionally fortunate to have two outstanding artists in our school with some very creative ideas!! Alan Meyburgh and Kerry Sibly have both done an amazing job in giving us a creative and contemporary school sign that will last for years!! It is a credit to both of them in the way they have enthusiastically gone about designing and working out how they were going to build this unique school sign. Once again this magnificent community has been generous again in their support of the project. Our thanks to • • • • Wendy Sibly at MuKau giftware and gallery (funded the project via donations) Phil and Jesse Ashton at SouthWest Machining Centre (plasma cutting of steelwork at below cost) Kevin Hopkins and Pieter Van der Vliet from the Cowaramup Bullshed (provided all the welding work) Bunnings, Margaret River (donated the cement) Friday Breakfast Club Our School Chaplain, Roger Westaway, runs the Cowaramup Primary School Breakfast Club every Friday in the Activity Centre. It is great to see Cowaramup Primary School students sitting around tables sharing, talking to each other and helping Roger in preparation and the clean-up. If you are near the Activity Centre on a Friday morning feel free to go in and see what a wonderful program Roger is running. Remember, breakfast is available for all students. .
