Safe Crossing for ALL people, ALL the time
The crossing is on a wide speed bump. Its flat top is on level with the
sidewalk for ADA access. A bridge at each end lets rain and snow pass
below.
This will benefit seniors who need to cross the street when it rains or snows.
Wheelchair-bound neighbors who need to find usable ramps , Everyone who needs
to cross the street safely, without fearing for their lives because of turning vehicles.
This will fund a prototype at West 45th Street and 9th Avenue (west side) where
two seniors were killed by turning trucks
