This is being held on Wednesday 13th May at 7.30pm in Room 1.

Ladies, you are invited to the CtK Women’s Ministry Summer
Retreat at the Claret Centre, Buckden.

East Kettering Church Plant
The Diocese have agreed to fund a Pioneer Minister for this post,
and we hope very soon to start to build a team to make things
happen. For those who want either to be involved, or to find out
more, or to give the project vital prayer support, there are still
opportunities to do so:
Mon April 27th 8.00pm. Joint Prayer Meeting at St. Botolph’s
Weds May 27th at CtK.
Hustings
General Election Hustings will be held at SS Peter & Paul’s on
Sunday May 3rd at 6.30pm.
We are hoping to organise Local Election Hustings for the Ise
Lodge Ward at Christ the King on Tuesday 5th May at 8pm, but, at
the time of writing we don’t yet know if this will be feasible. Please
look out for further information. Also please contact Rob or Mandy
if you would be interested in helping to run the evening.
New Wine
It would be helpful to know if anyone is planning to attend the New
Wine National Gathering (1st – 7th August) so that we can put
people in touch with each other. Please let Mandy know on 01536
517553 or [email protected]. Thanks.
Molly (Shortt) and family would like to thank all their dear
friends at CtK for the love and kindness shown to them following
the sudden death of John. It was so touching to see so many of
you at the funeral itself and we have been overwhelmed by the
love shown in the many, many cards that we have received. Also
the meals brought to us through 'Love in Action' which came at just
the right time and were very much appreciated. Thank you too for
your prayers, which have upheld us all through this sad time.
God bless you. Molly
Church Annual Meeting and PCC Elections
Growth and Stewardship
Don’t miss the Annual Meeting tomorrow
– a chance to review the past year, give thanks to God,
think about the next year, ask questions and elect new
members of the Church Council. Come any time from
7.15pm for tea and coffee. The meeting will start with a
time of worship at 7.45pm.
All PCC members and other interested parties are invited to
the Deanery Synod to be held at Broughton Church on
Thursday 21st May at 7.30 pm.
An event for everyone who wants to see their local church
grow. Providing lots of practical tips for enhancing our
stewardship and growing numerically.
The evening is led by: Paul Adams, Diocesan Stewardship
Officer and Revd Miles Baker, Diocesan Director of Mission
Would you be interested in serving on the
Parochial Church Council (PCC) of CtK?
External Items
The PCC’s primary role is, with the vicar, to ‘consult
together on matters of general concern and importance to
the parish’ and to ‘cooperate in promoting in the parish the
whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social
and ecumenical.’ If you think God may be calling you,
there is still (just!) time to send in your nomination. Please
see the Nomination Forms (back of the worship area
or download from the website), speak to Rob, or speak
to anyone currently on PCC (ask a member of staff or see
the website for who these people are).
There are also 2 places available on Deanery Synod,
which gives an automatic place on PCC.
It would be great to have a broad range of age, gender
and experience. If you know someone who you think
would make a great PCC member, why not encourage
them to stand?
Alpha
Know someone who is curious about Christianity, has questions
or wants to renew their faith? There is still time to join in with the
Alpha course, which began on 15th April. Please speak to Dawn
Airey, Deborah Hicks or Steve Dodman.
Services of Baptism and Confirmation: 21st June
Have you become a Christian quite recently but never been
baptised? Baptism is a great way of marking your commitment to
Jesus publicly, and will encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
Were you baptised (you may have called it ‘christening’) as a
child but the Christian faith has now become real and personal to
you? Confirmation is a way of renewing the promises made then
on your behalf, celebrating the faithfulness of God in bringing you
to faith in Jesus and receiving the anointing of the Holy Spirit on
your life.
We will be running preparation evenings in the near future. For
adults, please talk to Eleanor Jeans (01536 647347) or, for
children in year 8 or above, Andy Stilwell (07971 170622).
Quizaid
As part of Christian Aid's fundraising week, Kettering
Churches Together is arranging a Quizaid event at Fuller
Baptist Church on Friday 8th May, 6.45pm for 7.00pm.
Teams of 6 required; cost is £5 per person, which also
includes drinks and a very nice selection of puddings!
If you would like to be part of a Quizaid team, or would like
further information, please see Ian Hames (01536
515776).
Protecting Gospel Freedom
You are invited to a Christian Institute meeting at KingsGate
Community Church, Peterborough, on Thursday 30th April,
8.00pm-9.30pm. Topics include: Education, Christian
Citizenship and Sanctity of Life.
For further information please see Ian Hames or call the
KingsGate Church office: 01733 311156
Items needed for Moldova.
I have recently returned from Dancu – one of Breadline’s
partners in Moldova http://www.breadlinemoldova.org/. As a
result, I am collecting good quality toys to send to families
with children with disabilities - no cuddly toys or books with
English writing on, but toys that will develop skills and
imagination, such as jigsaws, building bricks, posting boxes,
cars, dolls etc. I am also collecting materials for making
clothes: thread, zips, buttons and wool for knitting - and
brass instruments for a youth band! Any medical items such
as bandages/dressings etc can be used by Emmanuel
Clinic. There will be a box in the welcome area with
“Moldova” labels on, or if you would like to contact me direct
its 01536461792 or [email protected],
It costs £1.50 per kilo to send items over, so any donations
to help cover that cost would be gratefully received. If
anyone would like a presentation of Breadline’s work,
please do contact me. Di Acaster
On Saturday 20th June I am organizing a garage sale on
our estate in aid of the Samaritans. It costs £5 to take part
and everything that you make on your stall belongs to you.
For more information, or to register to take part, please see
Doreen Dunn (9am service 482475). Thank you.
