Eligible Applicants Must:
Dallas Credit Union is proud to offer
scholarships to students who plan
to attend an accredited college,
trade school or university.
DCU will award three (3) $1,000.00
scholarships to students that
demonstrate academic
achievement and community
service.

Be a graduating high school senior.

Be applying to or enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a college, trade school or university (minimum 6-credit
semester or the equivalent).

Demonstrate commitment to the community.

Be willing to allow DCU to follow them during their tenure in college. This may include occasional video updates for inclusion on
DCU’s Facebook page and other social media. Topics for updates will include educational and financial literacy progress.
ALL applicants must submit:

A completed DCU Scholarship Application

Scholarship essay

Transcript from all high schools attended

A signed photo release form

Winners will be notified in July.
Scholarship recipients will be determined by the committee without regard to
race, religion, sex, national origin, or educationally-related handicaps. All efforts to maintain anonymity during the selection process will be made. DCU employees, volunteers and
their family members are not eligible. Transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from your
high school. Photocopies, faxes and online print-outs are not permitted. Transcripts will
not be returned. Scholarship awards will be paid to winner’s school on August 3, 2015 If
scholarship recipients are not DCU members, they must open a DCU Share Savings Account with minimum $25 deposit by July 30, 2015.



Applications may be submitted in person, by mail, or by email to [email protected] with the word
“Scholarship” in the subject line.
If submitted through email, the attachments must be either in Word or PDF format. High school transcripts
must be sent in a sealed envelope, however.
All scholarship materials must be RECEIVED by 3:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2015. Send materials to:

“Funding the Future”Scholarship Essay
Please submit a typed essay, not to exceed 500 words, on the following topic:
1. College students today face increasing financial pressures as they strive to balance
study, work , family and planning for their futures. Financial literacy skills can impact a
student’s ability to complete a college education. Please discuss your understanding of
money management and what you have learned thus far about budgeting and spending.
