While it is suitable for most 2WDs, you may prefer the alternative sealed road: From Uki, drive back towards Murwillumbah for 9km and turn left onto Tyalgum Road. This is also a great place to break your journey for morning tea or lunch: Guineas Farm Stall – Stock up on freshly harvested fruits and vegies just before the Mt Warning National Park turn-off. The Guinea family have been farming in the Valley since the 1800s and you can often see their crops growing right by the side of the road. TYALGUM GOURMET GOODIES Once a logging village, Tyalgum is steeped in old world charm with many of the historic shops transformed into cafes, art studios, gift stores and boutiques. Local gourmet specialties include: Soul Fire Cocoa Genesis – The Valley’s very own chocolatier, Grayle Harlequin, creates a delectable range of sweet treats using certified organic, raw, Fair Trade cocoa and chocolate. Even Up the Score Coffee – Talented barista, Archaeus Adidam, sources Fair Trade organic beans from boutique plantations all over the world to create his own unique blends at the micro coffee roastery in Flutterbucks. CHILLINGHAM FARM TOUR Chillingham Bush Tucker – Farmer Buck Buchanan grows some of the Valley’s most exotic fruits including the Tweed’s own native fingerlimes with a bubbly pulp like lime-flavoured caviar, which Buck supplies to some of Australia’s top restaurants, including Tetsuya’s in Sydney. He also grows Buddha’s hands fruits , Japanese yuzu fruit, kaffir limes, local Davidson plums, fragrant lemon myrtle and more. You can also stock up on locally made gourmet goodies and Buck’s own range of skincare lotions.
