Course Goal:
To develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge
skills and attitude essential to organizing, conducting and supervising safe
shooting activities and range operations.
Course Topics:
Introduction to the NRA Basic Range Safety Course – The Role of the Range
Safety Officer and Range Standard Operating Procedures – Range Inspection and
Range Rules – Range Safety Briefing – Emergency Procedures – Firearm
Stoppages and Malfunctions – Test and Review

SPECIAL NOTE:
When the Chester County Law Enforcement Firing Range opens in 2016,
any Department/Agency wishing to utilize the County Range will be
required to have a Certified Range Officer on the Range at all times.
Being an NRA Firearms Instructor should not be confused with the Range Safety
Officer, they are two distinctly different positions!
