Degrees at Work MSc Project Management 2 - 3 years part-time £6,250 September APPROVED BY THE MOD IN SUPPORT OF THE ELC SCHEME ELC 1007 Provider Number Overview Our MSc in Project Management is designed for serving military officers, as well as civilians in senior management positions. It has been designed to meet the demand for skilled project managers, both nationally and internationally, who are able to provide the increasingly sophisticated knowledge to successfully manage complex projects. Whatever your current role, this course will impart skills and learning to give you real expertise in strategic project management. We recognise that successful project management requires good management and organisational skills, therefore the course is built on a strong foundation of management capabilities, supplemented with specialist project management content. The course empowers every delegate to develop and sharpen their individual approach to management. As with many of our other courses, the MSc Project Management is work-based, in that it is a blend of theory and practice, and provides the academic rigour around your current experience. It is designed to fit with your current commitments and priorities. The course is accredited by the Association of Project Management (APM), and can be completed by distance learning via our University’s online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Course Content PG Certificate (60 credits) Management Theory Management Practice Project Management Systems Project Management Context PG Diploma (60 credits) Project Planning and Control Cost and Financial Management Project Management Techniques Research Design and Methods MSc (60 credits) Major Project A Postgraduate Certificate PGCert) in Project Management may be awarded on the successful completion of modules with a total credit weighting of 60 credits at masters level. A Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDip) may be awarded on the successful completion of modules with a total credit weighting of 120 credits at masters level. Assessment A range of assessment methods are used to test your critical understanding of the subject matter and to evaluate your ability to operationalise and apply the knowledge of project management. These include examinations, presentations, portfolios, written submissions and a major dissertation. What support is available? Tutorial support from the course team is available via email, telephone and the Virtual Learning Environment. This includes support from the module leaders, your personal tutor, IT helpdesk and the student adviser. Online facilities You will have internet access to many of the University’s facilities through your ‘My.Anglia’ account which will be set up for you once you have registered as a student. This account will give you access to the digital library, the VLE, rules and regulations, and your own email account. As a distance learning student there are a vast number of high quality resources available to you through our digital library; including access to electronic journals, e-books, databases and other resources through the internet. This means that resources are available whenever you choose to study, whatever the time of day. Funding your studies The fees for the course are £6,250 in total. Anglia Ruskin University is a recognised ELCAS provider, please contact your Learning Centre for details of ELC. How long does it take? The course takes between two and three years on a part-time study basis. Entry Requirements You will need to have a good honours degree from a recognised university. Alternatively, if you have a degree or degree equivalent qualification and/or appropriate work experience at a suitable level within an organisation, and for an appropriate length of time, you may be considered. You may be invited for interview prior to acceptance. Qualifications from an approved professional body will also be taken into account. If English is not your first language, you’ll need to provide evidence of linguistic ability to IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with no score lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing). It may be possible to accredit your existing military qualifications against the MSc Project Management. Please state details of your military training when making an enquiry.
