Looking ahead, a base building process would be healthy to anchor a sustained recovery going forward. On the index, overhead resistance is seen at 1,750, the 61.8% Fibonacci Retracement (FR) level of the 1,660 low of 28/8/13 to the 1,896 record high of 8/7/14, and next at the sliding 50-day moving average now at 1,768. Stronger resistance is at 1,778, the 50%FR, with the 100 and 200day moving averages jointly at 1,793 acting as tough hurdles. Immediate supports underneath are at 1,721, the rising 10-day moving average, followed by 1,700 and last Monday's low of 1,688, which matched the low of 1/12/14, and then the 1,671 low of 17/12/14. Stock-wise, blue chips such as Gamuda, IOI Corp, Maybank and Tenaga may rebound further this week from oversold levels after the recent selldown, but telcos like DiGi.com, Maxis and TM may suffer further correction due to weak chart patterns and sustained foreign selling pressure. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Important Dates EAH - 1:5 Bonus Issue - BI of 267.4m shares.
