Spring 2015
Our spring weather this year is a lot different than it has been for the last several years. We are seeing
quite a bit of rain, thank you Lord, and have even had a few severe storms. Just the other day we had
some pea sized hail come down. We are grateful it was not baseball or golf ball size as some have
seen. Our storms here in Smithville have not been anywhere near as severe as other parts of the state
have seen.
As I write this I am reflecting back to the month of March as we enjoyed a Team Leader training
session with Steve & Diane Ellens. On Friday, April 17, 2015 several couples travelled with us from
Smithville to Tejas in Giddings to be a part of the commissioning service for them. What a blessed
time we had! Congratulations, Steve & Diane!
It is always enjoyable going through the training process with couples. We enjoy sharing with one
another, getting to know one another better, and hearing their thoughts and ideas about RVICS as we
spend this time together day after day. It is a get acquainted, learning and growing process we go
through just as it is for couples on project at a ministry location to get acquainted, learn more about
each other and grow together as a part of the family of God.
This is the time of year when the amount of available missionary members serving at project locations
begins to decrease. Many couples return to home responsibilities and family time. Thank you to all
who have served at the various project locations over the last several months. You have been a
blessing beyond what you may be aware. We look forward to your
returning to serve with us soon.
Inside This Issue
A recent article in our devotion book referred to President John F.
Kennedy and his inaugural speech in which he stated, “Ask not what
your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”
I like the restatement of this challenge applying it to Christians,
“Rather than asking Jesus what He can do for you; ask Jesus what you
can do for Him.”

RVICS Village was started as a way station for
those who were still working projects and they
needed a place to park and rest before going on to
their next projects.
We would love to have you come for a visit and to
stay awhile. We gather together for socials, devotions and games just like on project. Plus there are
many opportunities for fellowship & ministry.
Any RVICS Member interested in purchasing a
membership in the RVICS Village must have
completed a minimum of 3 projects.

Summer Reunions
2015 North Central Reunion
Hey all. Put this on your calendar for 2015, the north central RVICS reunion. This year it will be
at a new location and time. We hope the time appeals to many more people. It will be held
September 1-3, 2015, still on Tues through Thursday. This is also the week before the new
2015 fall projects begin. What a great way to gear up for the new season. The location of the
reunion will be at the Riverview Conference Center in Cedar Falls, IA. This is a central location
for the projects starting the following week. Plenty of time to get to your project or just enjoy a
little bit of Iowa. The RV sites will be $15 per night or the retreat center rooms will be $15 per
person ($30 a couple). Bedding and towels for the rooms are not provided. Beds are either twin
or double beds. Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday breakfast meals will be at the retreat
center. Rates to be determined. Tours and dinner on Wednesday. We will have a bonfire on
Wednesday evening. If you know you are coming, please reserve your space by emailing or
calling the following:
Dave and Wanda Pakalski, [email protected], or call at 605-484-5924
Orval and Pat Matheson, [email protected], or call 320-492-1528
2015 Michigan Reunion
Our Michigan reunion will be on June 30. We choose the last Tues before the 4th of July every
year. Everyone is welcome to come anytime that week, we have lots of room for boon docking
and we also have a couple beds for those without RVs. Please call 989-866-2425 (Moreno's)
for directions and if you need accommodations. The main day is Tues June 30 with a potluck at
noon, coffee and cinnamon rolls at 9 am. The rest of the time we just spend time playing
games, singing, paddle boating, swimming, eating whatever and whenever we want. Very
relaxing time, no schedules or money needed. Please bring RVICS pictures and memories to
share.
2015 Illinois Reunion
Our reunion is scheduled for August 8, Lord willing. We will again meet at Starved Rock State
Park in Utica, IL. in the Park Lodge dining room at 12:30 for our meal and fellowship together.
