The date we all had marked on our calendars as a Red Letter Day. The day that
was our goal to attain when we entered Wade Hampton High School in the
late summer of 1960. And we made it! But, where would we go from there?
College? Work? Marriage? Military? Vietnam? Each of us set out on our own
individual journey and now, here we are, fifty years later. So, where are we
going now? WE’RE GOING TO CELEBRATE—our victories, our losses, our lives.
The dates have been set for June 12-14, 2015.
Hosted by the Reunion Committee, our first
event is an informal reception on Friday
evening, June 12, at the Claremont
Clubhouse, Chamblee Boulevard,
Greenville. This will be an evening to
relax and reacquaint ourselves with
each other. Hors d’oeurves, soft drinks,
beer and wine will be provided.
On Saturday, June 13, a “Dutch Treat”
event will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Chiefs
Wings & Firewater, for those who would like
to meet for lunch.
Our Main Event is Saturday evening, June 13, from 7:00-11:30 p.m. in the
Doral Ballroom of Embassy Suites. This is an informal affair. Sixties music for
listening and dancing will be provided by Greenville radio celebrities, Bob
“Beach Bob” Ross and Kathy, from the Beach Bob Oldies Show. Heavy
hors d’oeuvres, tea, and coffee will be served and a cash bar will be available.
The cost for the Main Event is $60.00 per person.
Once again, a family and friends picnic has been planned for Sunday, June 14,
beginning at 12:30 p.m., weather permitting. Each family will be responsible
for their own picnic lunch. Tommy and Donna Gregory Dowling have graciously
invited us to gather in their backyard for our picnic.
If there is enough interest, we can schedule a tour of the new Wade Hampton
High School facilities. Please note on the Registration Form if you would be
interested in a tour.
