The Pasifika Learning Centre is open from this Wednesday Come along after school and join a group
of enthusiastic and motivated students who are aiming to do well this year. You can access peer
tutoring, one on one help from subject teachers and also get Tongan language and Samoan
language tutoring. The centre operates every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5pm. See you there.

WW1 Commemoration Exhibition

To commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli, the Year 11 History students
have created an interactive, multimedia museum exhibition. The exhibition summarises the different
battles of the First World War, remembers the experiences of the soldiers who fought for New
Zealand and recognises the impact this event has had on our country. Come along to the History
Department corridor at lunchtime to learn something new!

SAMOAN SPEECH COMPETITION

There is a regional Samoan speech contest on the 25th of June. Students from years 9, 10, 11, 12
and 13 can enter. The topic for this year is "Taitua ma e faamaoni nei, mo sou taeao manuia/Serve
with diligentce". If you are interested in taking part, please come and see Ms. Krishnan in D20 for
more information.

Year 13s - the University of Auckland Faculty of Education Experience Day - get a taste of life as a
university student. 28 July (Epsom) and 3 August (Manukau)
Have you ever wondered what it might be really like at university? Now is your chance. Experience
day is a practical and engaging way for secondary school students and members of the community
who have an interest in teaching, physical education, social work or human services to get a taste of
life as a university student at the Faculty of Education and Social Work and learn about what we offer
at each of our three locations – Epsom, Tai Tokerau (Whangarei) and Manukau (Otara) . Come into
the Career Education Centre if you are interested in attending an Experience Day.

If you are playing hockey this year and would like to learn how to play goal keeper, Ms Clarke will be
running an introductory session lunchtime Wednesday 29th April in the New Gym and Thursday 7th
