The Fourteen Black Men of Glynn, Inc., in partnership with Glynn County High School Counseling Departments, invites you
to attend the 3rd Annual HBCU College Fair. The fair will be held at Glynn Academy in the Wood Gym on Friday, April 17,
2015, from 9:00- 1:00 pm. The purpose of the fair is to provide opportunity and access for students in Southeast Georgia
who do not typically have access to attend college fairs available to students in the larger cities.
In conjunction with the fair, the Fourteen Black Men of Glynn, Inc. provides scholarships to deserving seniors who plan to
pursue higher education. Last year, the group funded three $500 scholarships to each recipient. The amount of scholarships
is dependent on the success of the group’s fund raising. The scholarship award can be used at any accredited college
or university. The selected recipients must provide a copy of their college class schedule by the beginning of the fall
semester. Specific details will be stated in the award letter.
Please complete the attached application. On the day of the HBCU College Fair, the senior must present their completed
application at the Fourteen Black Men of Glynn, Inc. table. A member of the group will collect the application and conduct a
short interview with the student.
An application includes the attached form completed and the following information:
1. A copy of an Official Transcript with test scores
2. One Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community member
3. A 350 word essay on “The Importance of Higher Education”
