Meals on Wheels Week is June 1st-5th.
A monthly publication of Forest Hills Baptist Church
Megs Sports Camp & VBS begins with a kickoff at the Forest
Hills Pool Sunday night, June 7th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Wear a
swimsuit and bring a towel. Supper will be provided.
Our Mega Sports Camp & VBS for ages 3yrs-6th grade is
June 8th-11th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Join us for training in
football, volleyball, soccer, hiking, and cooking. Snack
suppers will be provided along with Bible lessons and
more! For more information call 256 766-0721.
The Finance Committee will meet at 3:00 and Deacons
will meet at 4:00 Sunday, June 7th.
Ladies…..now you know!
FHBC Ladies’ Conference Saturday, June 27th from 10:00
am-2:00 pm. The theme is “His Light...My Life”. Our
speaker is Liz Stevens, Pastor’s wife, former missionary,
and denominational worker. Tickets are $5.00 each and will be available
May 7-June 14. Come and be blessed! Keep saving the date!
The Youth will go to Mike Price’s parents’ lake house Sunday,
June 14th. They will leave the church at 3:00 pm.
The Youth are asking for donations of individually
wrapped snacks, candy and cookies for their Random
Acts of Kindness Day. On Wednesday, June 24th the
snacks will be delivered to various service agencies
such as the police department. Place donations in the
container located in the side foyer.
If you are going to Mission Fuge Camp, Marlin Johns needs
you to bring your packed bags to the church on Saturday, June
27th.
The Youth will attend Mission Fuge Camp June 28thJuly3rd.

June is shaping up to be a very busy month, with several
special events. We are starting with Vacation Bible School, “Mega
Sports Camp.” This is a different type of VBS giving Forest Hills
some separation from other VBS presentations in the area.
Many have asked why are we doing VBS again this year.
The answer is simple. It is still one of the most effective outreach
programs Southern Baptists have. Most years we see children commit their lives to Christ.
We also have two conferences this month. The Men’s
“Grid Iron Conference” is June 19-20, in Birmingham. The Ladies
Conference is June 27. This will be held here at the church. Liz
Stevens will be the featured speaker. Mrs. Stevens is a pastor’s
wife, former missionary, with a great testimony you’ll want to hear.
On the 28, the Youth will leave for Mfuge. This is a combination summer camp/mission trip. Please keep the Youth in your
prayers, asking that God will empower them to do His will.
This summer small group classes are be formed for Sunday
Evenings. These will begin on the 14th and will continue through
August 9th . Sign-ups for these classes are ongoing.
The calendar is certainly crowded, and I hope this is a
blessing to those that choose to participate. However, we believers
often mistake being busy with being right with God. I want to urge
each of you to seek God’s will as you make your plans.
The most important thing we can do this Summer is to put
God first. Whether we are on vacation or in Vacation Bible School,
lets be sure God is first. If we do that then we can be assured we
will walk in His will.
