I was one of the lucky ones who found my way to the shelter and now have a wonderful furr-ever home." More than 750 area non-profits have banded together to increase awareness of the need to support all the wonderful organizations that do so much to improve the quality of life in our area. If Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter is one of your favorite charities, help us make a good showing by donating through the BigGiveSA website, at https://thebiggivesa.org/#npo/freeman-frittsanimal-shelter, on May 5th. The need is there. Freeman-Fritts has started construction to double the size of the shelter, thereby doubling the number of animal lives saved. Bodie is one of the lucky ones. Help others get lucky, too. Motherhood is great, but please spay and neuter your pets. The Animal Welfare Society of Kerr County, Texas is a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Organization and relies heavily on donations and support from the local community. tax-deductible. 2 All donations are Baby Kitten Shower at Freeman-Fritts The baby kitten shower on Saturday, the 18th of April was a big success and lots of fun! The shower table overflowed with gifts of the requested items: Gerbers chicken 2nd stage baby food, unscented baby wipes, KMR powdered milk replacer, Pet Ag brand kitten nurser bottles and nipples, Esbilac, HEB and Wal-Mart store gift cards, cash donations, and kitten toys, toys, and more toys! Two 8-week old kittens came, as well as four 5-week old kittens (including the burn pile kitties) and a 3-week old kitten, plus two teeny weeny 2-week old kittens that slept the whole time. The rest played with the numerous kids and adults attending for over 2 hours until they finally went to sleep from all the fun. Everyone enjoyed the games: guessing the number of mice in a jar, pinning the tail on the cat, trying to remember the number of items in a basket, fishing for prizes in a pond, bingo, and trying not to say the word “KITTEN”. There were prizes all around. Lemonade and a variety of creatively decorated kitten shaped cookies, with their mice and fish friends, and a cake welcoming the spring kittens were served. Phyllis Allen was ecstatic with the response and said that babies in the shelter now and those many still to come this kitten season will all be taken care of by the generous and enthusiastic response of Freeman-Fritts supporters during the last month and at the shower. Pat yourselves on the back!! And kudos to Sonia Mumma, the shelter manager for coming up with such a cute, fun idea! 3 Cat of the Month I’m Gabriel! You just have to look at me to realize how amazing I am. See my intelligent face? I’m handsome, too, with my plush, flawless coat with a grey foxlike collar. A totally unique look. See that white toe peeking out in my picture? I also have a little white tip on my tail. I’m a little shy, which you might not guess from the way I hold you in my gaze, but I’m your special Prince Charming. Dog of the Month Liam here! My name means warrior! And that is what I am. My brother and sister arrived here at 4 weeks old and we weighed less than 2 pounds. We had a rough start. but you should see us now. I weigh about 5 pounds but I don’t think I will get very big. I am now around 12 weeks old and I love toys, especially ones that are bigger than I am, again the warrior starts to show. I am ready for my new life in my new forever home! Is that with you?
