Consistent Drawing Production With Annotation Scale Fundamental - Are you using Annotation Scale? Do you want your design team to spend less project time scaling text, dimensions, detailing symbols, cells, references, and other geometry? Attend this lecture and learn the skills needed to implement a global setting called Annotation Scale. Annotation scale is essentially a plot scale that may be applied to different element types to scale or re-scale project data relative to the final print scale. This MicroStation feature allows the re-use of data amongst project participants at multiple scales without the need to redraw data or have duplication in a drawing. The lecture will focus on how annotation scale can be implemented as part of your civil project standards, and how it may be integrated it into your drawing production workflows. Why Geo-coordinate Your Project? Fundamental - Integrating geospatial data from multiple sources is labor-intensive and error-prone which can result in misalignment and out-of-context information. Reduce the risk of errors on site arising from poorly Geo-Coordination data that enables civil designers to work naturally, and improve information coordination. Civil engineers typically view the world in terms of state plane or local plane coordinate systems. Georeferencing in a civil design project allows geometry to be located within a common reference such as a State Plane Coordinate System (SPCS). This provides a definition of an exact physical location of an object on the surface of the earth. Use of georeferencing further extends the ability to incorporate additional information such as geographic data within the project. Discover how to apply MicroStation's intrinsic Geo-Coordination features to spatially reference your design geometry within a geodetic referencing system. Using Point Clouds in a Civil/Geo Workflow Intermediate - Got Point Clouds? Are you a bit cloudy with what to do with them? Get the most out of your software; know which tool to pick to get the job done faster and more efficient, saving time to project completion. Incorporate Project Explorer Into Everything You Do Steve Rick, Bentley 4:45 PM 5:30 PM John Melbert, Bentley Fundamental - Explore more interactively resulting in higher quality of designs through improved coordination of project data. When you are working on a project, you work with many files, designs and models. Have you ever been irked when you have to flip through many of these files to get to the right model, and correct view? Wouldn't it be useful to have something simple that helps you do some organization? Project Explorer can become a central resource to organize your data. It provides users with hierarchical links to project data such as DGN and DWG files, models, references, and saved views PDFs, Microsoft Office documents and other supporting data can be linked. Think of Project Explorer as a hyper-linked table of contents to project data. In this session, users learn how to browse file contents and index DGN files for quick discovery of data and related information using Project Explorer. Tuesday, May 05, 2015 8:00 AM 8:45 AM Lecture Samir Haque, Bentley 8:00 AM 9:45 AM Workshop Shawn McGaffick, Bentley 9:00 AM 9:45 AM Lecture Samir Haque, Bentley 10:15 AM 12:00 PM Workshop Jerry Flynn, Bentley 11:15 AM 12:00 PM Lecture John Melbert, Bentley 1:00 PM 1:45 PM Steve Rick, Bentley INDIANAPOLIS May 4-5 Lecture 3D Geometry Creation Tools Fundamental - Today, providing 3D models is often required for civil design projects. Get your design team more productive in creating 3D geometry without extensive training. Discover ways to produce more completed projects in less time and get to the next project sooner. If 2D drawings of 3D data are required, it is easier to design in 3D. Come see how quickly and easily creating 3D geometry and visualization can be. MicroStation offers a variety of 3D toolsets to create solids, surfaces and meshes. This lecture will discuss the available 3D toolsets and the advantages they offer for your designs. Geo-coordination Fundamental - Integrating geospatial data from multiple sources is labor-intensive and error-prone which can result in misalignment and out-of-context information. Master the ability to apply MicroStation's intrinsic Geo-Coordination features to spatially reference your design geometry within a geodetic referencing system. Configurations, DGNLibs, and Workspaces: Putting It All Together Fundamental - MicroStation's workspaces provide a powerful, yet flexible environment for delivering CAD standards. They allow for easier, faster updates of those standards and provide consistency between drawings. A properly deployed workspace will benefit the entire organization by centralizing resources and delivering them to project participants. Making standards easy to follow saves time and money by providing standardization within project workflows. A workspace consists of configurations to control how, when, and to whom resources are available. Key topics covered will include workspaces, configurations, and standards. Traffic Animation Fundamental - Creating Traffic Animations that include moving traffic with multiple vehicles is labor-intensive, right? Not anymore. MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) has a streamlined workflow for producing compelling traffic animations saving enormous amounts of time. Streamlining the process of producing these kinds of high quality visualizations for infrastructure projects is a central focus of the MicroStation visualization tools. Maybe you have your roadway already modeled. Come learn the next simple step to animate vehicles moving along the roadway. The new traffic simulation tools, makes it both quick and easy to set into motion literally hundred of cars along the roadway at varying speeds. Come master new tools to let you set up a traffic network of lanes, where the vehicles randomly overtake other vehicles, and to take exits or enter the highway. Select cars from a library adding cars or tractor trailer rigs to your traffic simulation. Vary their paths, speeds and distances. Discover the script traffic tool, where you can edit and delete lanes and vehicles in lanes and easily add a camera to a car to create POV traffic animations.
