Reaching Out Ministries
We believe the Christ calls each of us into Ministry.
The church helps God’s people discover their own
gifts and how they can be used to glorify God. Many
of us discover opportunities for ministry in the needs
of our neighbors, co-workers, family and friends.
Missions Team
We support several programs in our local community
as well as in our world com
• Valley Outreach - volunteers serve periodically at
the local food shelf, assisting clients with shopping
and stocking shelves. Other volunteers fill backpacks
as part of the food shelf’s effort to provide healthy
snacks to needy families over the weekend.
•Local Elementary Schools - volunteers provide local
schools with reading, spelling and math help.
• Stillwater Highway Cleanup - an annual community
service project to clean up a designated area of
Stillwater
• Annual Christmas mission projects in greater Twin
Cities area
• Young Life of Stillwater - meals are provided for
the Junior and Senior High youth attending the Young
Life programs
Care Team
The Care Team is a sub-group of Welcoming who
reaches out to members and friends unable to fully
participate in the life of the church. Visits, phone calls,
transportation and correspondence ensure the ALL are
shown the love of God, even if they cannot travel to
church.
Connect
At First United Methodist we believe our
relationship with God can be a source of
deep and lasting happiness. As we respond
to Christ’s call for deeper commitment, we
begin to discover the presence and joy of
the Spirit every day in our lives.
Grief Support Team
A group of caring adults created so that no one has
to walk the path of grief alone. They listen, send
personalized cards and letters, provide grief-related
support materials and serve as a resource to call on in
times of loneliness.
Martha Group
We invite you to travel with us in this
adventure. Begin by joining us for Sunday worship. Then try one of our growth
groups or get involved in one of our ministries to the community, as a way of letting
God’s roots go down deeper into your life.
All are welcome to participate.
A dedicated group of people come together weekily
on Tuesday mornings to beautify the church and
visually represent God’s message throughout the
church buildings.
Welcoming Table
A dedicated resource expressly designed to welcome
new attendees, providing information, a warm smile
and a small gift for first time visitors.
If you have an interest in a particular
program or questions about what we offer,
don’t hesitate to call me at 651.439.1880.

Sunday morning worship at 10:00
Join us in this time for praising the living Christ. God
is active in our lives and in our world and worship is
one way we respond to God’s active love. Come and
join us in singing, praying and searching for God’s
Word.
Prayer
For the Christian, prayer is like breathing: Drawing
into our lives the life of God, and returning to God our
thanks, our praise, our needs and our joys. Prayer is a
vital part of our life together as God’s people.
Searching the Scriptures
The Bible contains God’s living Word for our lives.
By reading and studying the Scriptures, we share
Christ’s presence in our lives and encounter God.
The Lord’s Supper
We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion the
first Sunday of each month. As we share together the
bread and the cup, we believe God is working in us to
fill us with a Christ-like love. The United Methodist
Church practices open communion. All people who
sincerely desire to grow closer to God are welcome
and encouraged to share in this meal.
