August 28, 2016 This morning we will continue teaching on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Today we will focus on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. This was requested by several people to be part of the Ask the Pastor series. Next week will be our last week on this topic. First time? Opportunity & Reward Elevate We have an extremely rewarding opportunity for individuals to shape young lives by ministering in our nursery once a month. In the Fall we will challenge you to grow in your faith as we launch our Elevate program, a series of four foundational classes that will be held at 9am on Sunday mornings beginning September 25. Missions sunday Men’s Breakfast Our first Men’s Breakfast of the fall will be Saturday, September 3 at 9am at the church. Join us for a good breakfast, an encouraging word and a time of worship. This morning is Missions Sunday. help us support the work of the tens of thousands of Foursquare Missionaries around the world. Wednesday Nights Youtube Channel Remember our weekly prayer meeting this Tuesday at 9:30am. Also, this month’s Community Prayer meeting is tonight at LAM Christian Church on Schoenherr between 13 and 14 Mile at 6pm. Hope you can join us to pray. All of our sermons are on YouTube. Prayer from the Pastor’s Heart With Labor Day approaching, we are looking forward to getting back into the routine of the Fall schedule and our passionate pursuit of God’s presence. As you do, God promises that He will refresh you and cause you to flourish. Psalm 92:12–14 (NKJV) The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD. Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing. FAMIlY lIFE Nursery We’ve prepared a special place for kids 5 yrs. and under during our 11am service. Since our service is designed for adults, we believe you and your child will have a more positive experience if you take advantage of our nursery. Those seated around you will appreciate your thoughtfulness. Ages 3-5 will receive age appropriate teaching and ministry. Our nurseries are located down the hall east of the sanctuary. Youth services will resume on Sunday, September 4. Teens will be dismissed following worship to receive ministry on their level. sERvICE tIMEs Sunday: 10:00am Tuesday: Prayer Service 9:30am Wednesday: Starting Back September 14 at 7pm shout! Kids During the Sunday service, elementary age kids (5 & up) have great ministry that includes skits, music and a lesson designed for them. We also have things for children on Wednesday night. Check the bulletin for details. The Giving Tree Daycare operates Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm for ages birth to 6 years old. We also have a FREE Great Start program for four-yearold children. Pray for healing. Pray for Thelma Peterson’s dad, he is being treated for cancer on his hip, neck and spine. Matt DeDecker’s mother is battling breast cancer. Tammy Brown’s kidneys are failing and she is facing a kidney transplant. Doctors say Becky Harrison’s adrenal glands are not functioning normally. Pray for wisdom and provision for our future growth and building plans. Pat Pier is recovering from a broken ankle. Demetria Wright has been in the hospital. Debbie Canty is recovering from surgery to remove a growth in her brain. Julie Sylvagi, a friend of the Rhodes family, has been bed ridden with MS. Pray for a miracle. John Thompson fell and is homebound. Ann Trerice’s mother passed away last week. Pray for the family.
