Ron White, Launches 16th Annual
Shoe Drive for those in Need
January 3, 2012 -- Toronto, ON – The Ron White Foundation kicks off its 16th year of Canada’s largest shoe drive with the support of Emmy
nominated show casts including Glee’s Max Adler and Josh Sussman, Modern Family’s Rico Rodriguez, Hawaii 5-0 and Lost’s Terry Quinn,
Mad Men’s Robert Morse, Dancing with the Stars’ David Arquette, Entourage’s Debi Mazar and Canada’s very own Catherine O’Hara.
These big hearted celebrities, along with Twilight’s Tinsel Korey, The King’ Speech’s David Seidler and ZZTop front man Billy Gibbons have
all signed and donated their shoes in support of Ron White. Beginning January 6 2012, Ron encourages Torontonians to “Follow in the
Footsteps of their Favourite Celebrity” and donate their gently worn shoes and boots to those in need.
Many new donations are from friends that Ron has met in the past year while launching his Signature and All Day Heels® collections in the
US through select independent retailers, Lord & Taylor in New York and at top Nordstrom locations. Ron also launched a US chapter of the
shoe drive in November in partnership with Nordstrom, with an event at The Grove in Los Angeles. The US shoe drive launch comes on the
heels of Ron White’s recognition as Independent Retailer of the Year for 2011 by Conde Nast’s Footwear News.
Ron White will officially kick off the Shoe Drive at his Manulife location on FRIDAY JANUARY 6th at 1pm. This event will unveil all new
celebrity donations and display the shoes of past celebrity supporters including A-listers Celine Dion, Matt Damon, Kevin Spacey, David
Foster and Hilary Duff, alongside some of Canada’s best loved media personalities, including Jeanne Beker, Ben Mulroney, Seamus
O’Regan, Dina Pugliese, Jennifer Valentyne, Leslie Roberts, Anne Mroczkowski, Anne-Marie Mediwake and Amanda Lang.
All donations of gently worn men’s, women’s and kid’s shoes are welcome beginning Friday, January 6th and will be collected through
until Sunday, February 5th at all RON WHITE locations across the Greater Toronto Area. Shoes and boots are sorted and cleaned before
being distributed to shelters and organizations in need. This year’s charity partners include: Dress for Success, Halton Women’s Place,
New Circles, Ve’ahavta and Out of the Cold.
“It has been quite a year and I am thrilled that so many busy Hollywood actors came out to support this cause – both in Canada and in the
US,” said CEO and Creative Director Ron White. “I’m asking generous Torontonians to help beat our goal again this year – bring us your
gently worn shoes and we will get them to those in need.”
An initiative of the Ron White Foundation, The RON WHITE Shoe Drive is the largest of its kind in Canada and over the last 16 years has
collected and given back more than 25,000 shoes and boots for the men, women and children.

THE RON WHITE FOUNDATION was created in 2009 as a way to give back to the community. The foundation, a registered Canadian charity, focuses on raising funds,
awareness and education for human rights both locally and internationally. The Foundation hosts an annual fundraising gala entitled ‘White Knight’ and through RON
