Good Will-Hinckley Board of Directors Unanimously Selects Mark Eves as Next President
(Fairfield, Maine) – “As duly elected stewards of a beloved, 125 year old Maine educational institution, the
Good Will-Hinckley Board of Directors authorized a national search for a new president in September 2014,”
said John P. Moore, Chairman of the Good Will-Hinckley Board. “After a rigorous, professionally run ninemonth process of interviews and meetings with teachers, staff and Board members assembled as the selection
committee, the Board voted unanimously* to offer the presidency to Mark Eves.”
Moore noted that, in his role, Eves will be in charge of leading and building support for several institutions on
the Good Will-Hinckley campus, including: The Maine Academy of Natural Science; the Glenn Stratton Learning
Center, the L.C. Bates Museum; the College Step-up Program and the Carnegie Library.
“I’m honored and excited about the opportunity to serve as president at Good Will-Hinckley. I’ve spent the last
15 years of my career counseling at-risk children and struggling families as a therapist in communities across
the state. My firsthand experience in the field counseling struggling children and families has guided my work
in the Legislature as Speaker of the House and it will guide me as president at Good Will Hinckley. I’m deeply
grateful to the Board of Directors for their full faith in me and their unanimous support. It is a great privilege to
lead an institution which has improved the lives of at-risk youth for more than a century.” Said incoming
President Mark Eves.
“The Good Will-Hinckley Board of Directors and senior staff believe strongly that Mark Eves’ professional
credentials and career in psychology and family therapy, as well as his statewide policy and leadership
experience as Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives make him the best candidate to lead our
school’s work creating opportunity for at risk and non-traditional students from across Maine,” said Moore. “It
was clear to our staff and our Board of Directors throughout the extensive interview process that Mark is truly
dedicated to helping families and children who are struggling and has dedicated his life to that work.”
Eves has significant credentials and accomplishments recognized by the Board and selection committee during
the rigorous review process, including:

Mark Eves has dedicated his professional life to helping at-risk kids and struggling families. Being
selected as the next President of Goodwill Hinckley is consistent with his life’s work and well aligned
with the mission of GWH.

Mark Eves has worked in the field of behavioral health for the past 15 years. He has a graduate degree
and professional working experience that make him a very qualified candidate. The work history
includes clinical, administrative, and leadership responsibilities that he has excelled at.

Mark Eves has worked for multiple non-profit organizations as a clinician and in administrative roles.
- Odyssey House, Sweetsers, Woodfords, successful clinical private practice.

Mark Eves has developed a reputation of being a collaborator, problem-solver, and having an excellent
work ethic. In addition he is very well respected by his peers- as indicated in Senator Roger Katz letter
of reference.
