World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical celebration of informed prayer and prayerful action. Join in the prayer service written by the women of The Bahamas, which draws us into a study of Jesus’ radical love as he washes the disciples’ feet. The service will be held at St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown, PA on Friday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. World Day of Prayer Participants are needed from our churches to lead the service. Church women from our churches and the community are invited to a time of preparation for the service on the previous Friday, Feb. 27 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at St. Denis Church. At that time we will assign parts and organize. Please call Rev. Mary Jane Kirby with questions. YOUTH & FAMILY MINISTRIES (See Lauren’s newsletter for details) Sunday Giving Envelopes are available for pick-up in the back of the Narthex. If you are able to deliver envelopes to shut-ins or anyone you know that does not attend services regularly we would be most grateful. What she fails to mention (and she wouldn’t) is how much time, energy and organizational skills she herself contributes on a regular basis. She is the nucleus of this project - as Mary Grey so competently was before her. Kudos to both of these folks for talking the lead on guiding us through the ongoing operation of the the Hope Food Bank. Condolences We wish to express our deepest sympathy to William Nickerson in the passing of his mother Helen Nickerson. Please keep Bill in your prayers at this time. With Heartfelt Appreciation Many thanks to all who sent condolences and took part in my mother Helen Nickerson’s funeral service at Hope UMC. Thank you to Reverend Mary Grey Emmett for the beautiful service and tribute to my mother. I am most appreciative.
