In a nutshell, ICIS Invest “Top of the Morning” covers themes and insights for the day. Transform your Investments. Elevate your life. ICIS Invest “Top of the Morning” Greetings Earthlings, The numbers are in and the verdict is out… Yes, the breaking news this Monday morning is that “NO” vote leads in Greece Referendum. INDICES Index Last Dow 17703 -0.31% Change Yes, it confirmed that it is a big fat Greek no. Based on early counting, at least 61% of Greeks voted “no” to creditors’ demands on Sunday, an outcome that confirms that the country on a collision course with the rest of the eurozone. Nasdaq 4995 -0.36% Bovespa 53116 0.72% Sensex 28092 0.53% The referendum’s result indicate there was a larger-than-expected backing for the Greek government’s position in its stance against other European entities, as well as underscore questions about Greece’s future in the euro. Nifty 8484 0.47% SGX Nifty 8505 0.00% After years of living on borrowed money and paying the price with savage austerity. The voters in Greece have rejected the latest offer of financial help from Europe and the International Monetary Fund. So, no to more austerity, no to a bailout deal, and -- quite possibly -- no to the euro. The vote could lead to the country's exit from the eurozone within weeks. That's because Greece needs more money from Europe to stay afloat. On that backdrop, the euro fell sharply against its rivals in early trade. The Japanese stocks fell sharply out of the open, down 1.5% at the time of publish. But the message from your research desk is “Don’t panic”. Here is some catalyst why we say so: Outlook for the Day Negative open likely Nifty Outlook Short Term Neutral (8375-8515) Intermediate Positive (8050-8725) Long Term Positive (9500+) 1) This is a political crisis in Europe, not an economic one. 2) The market value of Greece’s gross national debt was only about $250 billion, give or take. That’s about 1% of the European Union’s annual output. Its very small a number. 3) Most of the debts are owned by the International Monetary Fund and European Central Bank, and hardly any Indian banks exposure. This event will throw out some very interesting buying opportunities. We strongly recommend staying tuned by following is on our SMS trading Alerts. Key Levels to Watch Nifty Support 8382 & 8284 Nifty Resistance 8517 & 8675 Sensex Support 27891 & 27321 Sensex Resistance 28250 & 28650 Stay tuned. Likely Range for the Day Outlook for Monday: Nervous open likely at Dalal Street…. Dalal Street is set to fall hard in early trades after Greek trades. Investor attention will swing back to quarterly earnings this week as another season starts off, heralded by the earnings report of TCS on Thursday. Meanwhile, investments by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) will continue to grab attention. Also commanding investors’ attention would be the progress of monsoon. We expect, Dalal Street may remain volatile on backdrop of uncertainty in rate hikes by the Fed. Transform your Investments. Elevate your life. Nifty 8375-8515 Sensex 27871-28250 Pivot Level Nifty 8505 Sensex 28087 www.icisinvest.com ICIS Invest “Top of the Morning” Technical Strategy Helping sentiments at Dalal Street would be confidence of companies filing for initial public offerings (IPOs), Three companies --low-cost carrier IndiGo, staffing firm Teamlease and e-retailer Infibeam--filed papers with Sebi to raise an estimated Rs 3,000 crore.
