This call letter is in reference to your application for admission to the PhD program at our
institute. The date of the selection process has been moved to April 9/10, 2015 at 9:00 am as
Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is visiting our Campus during first week of April.
We regret the inconvenience caused. Please report to our institute on the date specified below.
The written test will be a combination of descriptive, multiple choice and problem solving
questions and will cover theoretical concepts of your area of specialization along with basic
statistics. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. You will be allowed to use calculators
(including scientific calculators) during the written test. The test has been scheduled
between 09:00 am and 11:00 am. The personal interview will start upon completion of the
written test. The entire process will be completed by the end of the day (by around 6 pm).
Please make necessary arrangements on your own to reach IFMR campus. Our institute will
provide the refreshments and lunch on April 9/10, 2015. The outstation candidates will get
reimbursement of the amount equivalent to the shortest route train fare (sleeper class) from their
home town (anywhere in India) and back, on submission of proper ticket/s.
You are expected to bring the following particulars while attending the selection process:
1. A hard copy of this email (print-out)
2. A hard copy of the updated CV
3. Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Research Proposal: It should mention the tentative research
idea, you wish to pursue. (Neatly typed and printed on A4 size white papers)
4. Mark-sheets (10th, 12th, UG & PG), job experience certificate (if any) and publications (if
any).
