FALL 2015 PROGRAM COORDINATOR APPLICATION } { Please send resume & application by Friday, April 24th by 5pm to: [email protected] CommonGround is part of The Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR), developed for students to learn about social inequalities and social justice through short, request based workshops. We offer an opportunity for those who are interested in the programmatic aspects of social justice education to connect with other student leaders who are passionate about social justice, and developing skills in marketing, recruitment, training, and community building as well as facilitating. The Program Coordinator Position We seek a program coordinator to be a part of the CommonGround Programming Team. Program coordinators put CommonGround’s goals into action by supporting and training student facilitators, collaborating with student coordinators to build community throughout CommonGround, managing requested workshops, and participating in marketing/recruitment activities. No prior experience with CommonGround or IGR is necessary but it is a plus. University, 2nd Fl, Suite B—Galleria Building 734-763-1875 www.igr.umich.edu 1 FALL 2015 PROGRAM COORDINATOR APPLICATION Key Responsibilities • Lead informal monthly trainings with Student Coordinators and Workshop Facilitators to promote skill development. • Manage workshops by conducting intake meetings and workshop planning meetings. • Co-facilitate workshops and trainings with IGR staff and students. • Planning CommonGround workshop curriculum. • Assist in the planning and implementation of the CommonGround weekend training retreat. • Participate in weekly meetings with the CommonGround Programming Team. • S upport the Student Coordinator team, a group of student volunteers who guide the direction of the program. • Organize appreciation initiatives for CommonGround Facilitators and Student Coordinators • Develop and/or implement strategies for the retention of CommonGround Workshop Facilitators and Student Coordinators • Perform administrative tasks and other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. • Commit to a regular 10-15 hr/week work schedule, with some additional nights and weekends for retreats. • Participate in strategic planning for recruitment cycles. All interviews will be held in the IGR Office, located at 1214 S. University on the Second Floor (directly above Starbucks).
