A 60-year-old Hoopeston man reported at 2:21
p.m. Thursday that someone burned the floor mats in
his vehicle after placing a smoke bomb in the vehicle
while it was in the 200 block of West Lincoln.
A 66-year-old Hoopeston woman report4ed Thursday that someone took several fishing poles and
tackle from her garage in the 800 block of East
Main.
A 53-year-old Hoopeston man reported at 3:30
p.m. Friday that items were missing from his vehicle
and it was damaged from a smoke bomb placed in-
side the vehicle. The incident occurred in the 600
block of East Washington.
Amber Morgeson, 34, of Hoopeston, was arrested
for driving while license revoked after a traffic stop at
9:35 p.m. Friday at Main and Market. She was released with a notice to appear in traffic court.
An unidentified 17-year-old was taken to Carle
Hoopeston Hospital after police and EMS were called
to the 500 block of East Lincoln for an unresponsive

Hoopeston Hornets signup, for football and cheer, will
be on July 11,12, 18, 19, 25 and 26. Times will be 10
a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays and noon-2 p.m. Sundays. Fee is
$60 for the first child and $55 for each additional child.
All signups will be at the youth football field on Sixth
Ave.
Obituaries
OLSON - Catherine Olson, 81, of Hoopeston, died
at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Iroquois Memorial
Hospital, Watseka. Arrangements are pending at
Anderson Funeral Home, Hoopeston.
Fire Calls
Hoopeston Fire Department was called at 12:33 p.m.
Friday to Parkview Court for a possible natural gas leak.
A pilot light blew out and was reignited. No injuries
were reported.
Declaration to be read
Rossville Community Organization is adding a new
event to the Independence Day Celebration in Rossville
this year.
Reading of the Declaration of Independence will be
held at 4 p.m. on Independence Day at Rossville United
Methodist Church Fellowship Hall

Police continued from other side
EMS arrived. He was later taken to the police station
where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a notice to appear in Hoopeston City Court.
No tickets or injuries were reported in an accident
at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of West Penn.
Police said Sawyer Neal, of Hoopeston, in a 1999 Ford
Ranger, looked down to adjust his radio and hit the
rear of a parked 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, owned by
Don Obergfel, also of Hoopeston.
The Silverado rolled a block and one quarter before
stopping at Sixth Ave., while Neal’s truck rolled into a
yard just east of Seventh Ave., police said.
An underage boy was charged with no driver’s license after police conducted a traffic stop at 2:43 p.m.
Saturday on an eastbound vehicle driving erratically at
Market and Orange.
The boy was released to his mother with a court
date.
